Um...."what's my age again?"Oh wait, that's a Blink182 song.

But I'm 38 chronologically. I'd say...oh....16-18 mentally.

I just started mmo's last year (or year before not sure). This is the third one I've played extensively (dabbled in a couple others free trials).

I was old school PnP gamer for years and years and years. Started in the late 80's playing computer games on my Commodore 64.

No kids, but my dog looks at me funny when I'm fighting Gingos or Ragus.

I never learned 'l33t' speak. I have an english degree, writing no less. So I tend to use whole words and sentences. Egad! :p

LOL.. well I am 23 soon to be 24.
But concerning your comment, it seems that a hell of a lot of guys are mere crossdressers in the retail version.

eheh... just a thought, why is it so hard to understand that men may want to play women characters? How is that fundamentaly different than say, playing a Tryker, or Zorai... it's all about playing something that you are not in real life.

Could we generalize a bit and say that too many people are projecting themselves in their characters; associating them with 'me' and thus could not consider even playing the other sex?

Are you all playing your online ryzom alter ego; or a fiction character that lives in that world, and following his/her evolution?

Maybe I'm going too far on the dissociation philosophy when playing my chars... I play them the way I see them, not necessarily how *I* would react if *I* was on Ryzom. It's like reading a story about someone, except you're taking decisions and watch the evolution

Ryzom is my first MMORPG and i was quite surprised to find so many RL men playing female charas. A bit strange at first but i got used to it as it is quite an interesting concept. I rolled a toon female character, but it just didnt feel right. Maybe in wow.....

LOL.. wasn't expecting to get a such emotional comment on my comment.
Anyway, what kinda surprises me is that men tend to play female characters more often than the other way around. And the part that actually does bother me from time to time is the Roleplaying part they try to do with it and play their female character they way some men like to see them.
Maybe it comes with the way I have been raised, but I do tend to dislike the whole wanna-be-female talk, which actually turns sometimes into something offending for me.
Other than, of course everyone can play who and whatever they want. No problem with that. My comment was merely pointing to the fact that there are relatively few male characters. :)

For the person who said they thought that guilds for older people would be nice: It seems from this survey that guilds for older people will be almost the only guilds!

I'm 27 and I play games. all the time. For a living, for fun, since a very early age. My life is games.

Sad really.
