The next morning:
That was a fun discussion but ooooh I was tired! (late at night for me)
I can now see more clear that you are using the tool to access said story (to what I agree, it is a story) in a different way.

Maybe the best road to success in this situation is to alert Nevrax that you made the story more accessible to other parties in a way not anticipated and thus changes to that way arent communicated either.
And with 3rd party (pet peeve ;-) I mean not written by Nevrax and thus not their problem. I am not implying anything about violations of contracts, I would make a huge, amuzing and exxagerated comparison about that too. :D

So my final point (opinion) in this, having looked at all the heated arguments we made:

Yes, changes in the software that impact the way players are experiencing the story should be communicated.
True, broken logfiles are of no use to anyone.
But when looking at all elements in your specific situation, your initial anger was a bit over the top.
Also seeing you rewrote your application fast and that is a lot of unpaid effort, I take a bow.

/tell Mithaldu hey, about logfiles and tools and stuff, take a look at Prunes' logfile analysers. He wrote about them in the Ryzom Wiki (link in sig).

i just wanted to say thanks for letting us disable the interface again. This is a fantastic feature for people who want to take screenshots or make movies.
I'm really very happy about this :D :D

Patch Notes wrote:. Back to the future ! In order to take screenshots without any interfaces and just the scenery, you can press shift-F5. Press shift-F5 again in order to get your interfaces back.
Any chance that in the shift-F5 view you could get rid of the selection crosshairs? I love this view, but it is impossible to get good action shots since your target is always bracketed by the crosshairs.

F12 should take care of that.

Except that then you stop fighting since you don't have a target anymore...

Except when something is in front of the cursor and the crosshair appears on it. >_<
