I guess thats fair enough,
You could even get the Kami more active as anti-botters, have them randomly send a simple request to harvesters, and those who dont comply get looked at by a GM (.. or just nuked, after all, thats the Kami way)

I don't know alot about this, as I've only seen a few people who I'm fairly certain were botting. Those were digging in Dyron (Prospect, Dig 2, CP 2, repeat) They inevitably died. When you rezzed them, they spazzed for a moment, then went back to it, and died again. Seemed pointless.

Hehe
That's a fine example of a bad botter, one who cheats but can't even get that right... good stuff
I've never seen botting in Ryzom, though I've never looked for it either, so who knows. Worst case I saw was in SWG - in fact it almost seemed as though SOE had developed the ability into the game on purpose.
A certain class (I think TK unarmed combat) was able to do a move called 'tumble', which involved them falling and rolling on the floor. The trick was, tumble used up a small amount of HP, which was enough to be healable by Docs/First Aid players. So, the hospital would be full of people macro-chatting "Tumbling for your Doc XP, Plz tip me 2500 with /bank, any non-tippers will be added to ignore list". In front of them, you'd see several muppets... I mean trainee doctors scrabbling to heal the bit of health being lost. Amusing, and sad in similar amounts

Turn them botters into Yubos on newbie island
Can't initiate attack, but can fight back.
On a second thought... this sounds fun! One way to make mob AI a bit more interesting maybe

Some one earlier mentioned botting crafting actions. How the heck would you do this? All the botting-type programs I've seen duplicate key-presses, not mouse movement, and that is required for crafting (an implimentation of the 'you must grab item befor trying the action again' idea). So far, however, every q250 earing maker I have talked to has done it the old-fashoned way (and paid with their sanity, to some extent or other). That 'you must grab item befor trying the action again' also keeps you from doing it cause once your bag is full, and yes, I have had a bag full of nothing but earings befor, you can't grab anymore.

Recording and replaying mouse movements is just as easy as doing it for keypresses.
There is also a drop item button in the crafting panel - granted you waste mats this way.

Crafting as it is now is not exaclty the same as it was. For starters, there were "genmats" (brownish potatoes like mats used for any craft), and the boxes had to be refilled at each craft and of course, you can always drop the crafted item. So yes, botting crafting was possible in betas and yes, I saw it, and yes, discussed with GMS and yes
a nice example of how if the gameplay is improved no need to bot crafting
ps: '85', '85' remember?

in theory, you can make bot to craft earrings and then sell them
if one stack is used, then it "reloads" craft interface and continues.
on a side note, in theory, it's possible to make bot to run around and kill tribes to earn fame (i mean, take mission, visit every bandit camp, kill them, clear jobs list, return to town, wait for new missions)
i said in theory
, have not checked if it's possible. if i ever gonna do it, then just for challenge
