I did not read previous commentary and some of these issues may have been already addressed.

1. Why change english title if reason is 'Ugly translation in french'? It just doesn't make sense. You can't translate titles directly and have good title in every language. Drop that idea and make natural, good sounding, titles for each language.

2. Stated main reasons for title improvements were good. Reapply these rules to proposed titles as they do not fulfill requirements.

3. Old titles were poor but new titles are equally poor. Many english titles just sound stupid

And some general suggestions to regarding getting titles.

1. Add titles that have multiple skill prequisites

2. Add titles as rite or mission rewards e.g. level based title would be rather bland but completing mission would give improved title. There could be even more than one available cool title for one bland title e.g. a Zorai mace related mission would give title Nankarist but Matis mace mission would give title based on Matis mace name.

as an extra point, I think Celestial Guardian is a very good name for someone whos job it is is to prevent people entering the afterlife. If all lvl 250 titles are going to be consistent (Master ?), then i suggest moving it to lvl 201+

We'll have to wait on info from Nevrax to see if Slathist is a specifically Matis word, if they can come up with a broader definition of one of the few Atysian words we've encountered, then maybe it won't be so bad.

btw, the purpose of tomorrows naming committee is to come up with natural, good sounding titles either atysian, or original.

Ehm... anything but Geologist please. Have you foraged any stones or coal or iron on Atys? Geologist means someone who knows rocks not flora/fauna and materials produced by the flora/fauna. If you really want something like that then it's Agrarian. :p

I'd like to see some more of these old titles used. Unless of course you're waiting to use them for race specific skills ;)

Each Melee weaps/Armour craft branch should have own title (eg. Master Sword Smith, Master Heavy Helms... ) and completing whole tree (150/200/250) (1, 2H Weaps, LA/MA/HArmour you getting title eg. "Advanced/Expert/Master Haavy armorer", same for Jewelery and etc
Same for Melee/Magic users: titles for "all done in 1h tree", "in 2h tree" ,"in Magic ..

Hmm, Atys is a planet with no minerals. So the geologists presumably work in wood.

I think so too ...

ge·ol·o·gy n. pl. ge·ol·o·gies
  1. The scientific study of the origin, history, and structure of the earth.
  2. The structure of a specific region of the earth's crust.
  3. A book on geology.
  4. The scientific study of the origin, history, and structure of the solid matter of a celestial body.
[Medieval Latin gelogia, study of earthly things : Greek ge-, geo- + Greek -logi, -logy.]

Substitute "earthly" for Atysian and waahlah - there you havzzit. ;)
