The point of this debate is for people to air their views. And hopefully for the dev's to take note of them. It's an important line of communication between the players and creators of SoR. It's in everyones best interests if new features appeal to the majority of the player base, and in some cases that might mean tweaking the implementation appropriately. Everyones opinion is important, pls dont take this dissmissive attitude to your fellow homins.
I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I saw outposts and one of the devs explained some of the basic functionality behind them. It was very clear they are designed around the idea of guild vs. guild conflict. They will be going into the game with the goal of creating GvG activity. While some balance will take place the basic functionality will remain. That being that a guild will build one, another guild will declare war, the guilds will fight and the process will repeat. So hearing people say how they don't want the outposts to be about guild vs. guild or pvp is really a moot point. That is what I mean when I say the people expressing that opinion does not hold much interest to me. I'm really not trying to be rude, but people need to start to think about what they are going to do when they get in game as opposed to spending so much time trying to say they don't belong in the game.

The playerbase may well not use them as they are envisioned.

No plan survives contact with the 'enemy'. No MMORPG survives contact with the players :)

The nature of the game thus far has created a community that, for the most part, isn't into PvP and is unlikely to compete over the outposts particularly.

They're far more likely, IMO, to end up being used as waypoints on trips, to make those trips easier, as foci for roleplay events and as trade posts.

Yes i agree with that i think everyone gets far too paranoid everytime PvP is mentioned just take the PR situation as evidence of the fact it doesnt mean we all have to kill eachother every time we meet.

Look, as usual Raynes, it's you versus the masses.

PvP is here to stay, and Outposts are going to be largely based around that idea. Use them for whatever the hell you want, but don't let me catch you crying when me and my forces are knocking on your proverbial front door. My character lives for conflict, and as soon as Nevrax supplies the means to create conflict, I can garauntee anyone I'll be the first to be building up my defenses, and charging into battle. If any of you believe that the KoK will stand idle as any Pro-Karavan guilds build an Outpost in Zorai territory, then you're flat out lying to yourself.

One point, if you're only allowed one outpost each, what's to fight over?

I envision KoK in alliances with other pro-Kami Zorai guilds, making sure that no Karavan lovers take root in our beloved jungles. I wouldn't even aim to take their outpost away, just make sure they know they're not wanted, and will be beaten upon until they leave.
