I don't see how that relates to point 4 to be honest - I think you misunderstood my comment about thickness

You would need thick wood because the machine obviously burns wood too - if the building and chimney weren't super-thick, they would burn very quickly. See what I mean? I'm not talking about the wood not being strong or giving protection - fire has a very different effect on wood than wood-on-wood collisions do. 'Sheesh'
If you made armour and weapons from wood, wouldn't you carve them?

I don't see someone burning wood in a furnace to make a sword from it, to be honest...

Isn't there also some sort of machine with gears in a room in the south west corner of Pyr?
I haven't been there since beta 1 so I forget the exact details.

Indeed, a very good point there raynes

Damn, I think you may be right amcyr (another place I haven't been since Open Beta). In that case, my claim of no similar buildings is shot down

However, in the same respect, my cogs-on-the-back claim still stands

Pfft, I would have preferred the first one...
Still, the one point that remains that we can't yet prove, is if the Oasis holds any secrets for us. I still think the presence of some kind of machine (whatever kind it might be) means the Oasis has a purpose, and that purpose will be discovered by us

Also, the fact that it's now blocked (and wasn't originally) also points to future secrets...

Doesn't the forge have gears in it?
And I have no doubt that one day it will be important, the name alone has significance. But right now it's really nothing.

For the color of the hut, there are woods that turn grey after some time being exposed to the elements and the chimney could be made of some sort of fired clay/pottery.
My gosh - are we so starved for content that we would chew such little details to dust? *cries* I know I am!!

Well If you start from the sawdust mines ramp and head south its not that bad of a run. If you can get past the new kinchers they just put at the bottom of the ramp. I swear the gms have nothing better to do than screw with the people playing the game well.

OOO you're so mysterious and intriguing raynes

So you have to change a far clip setting, and some kind of field-of-view value. Is it so impressive to keep the technique from everyone else?
I'll play about with this later, and post how to do it.
Its not a mystery its been posted about a dozen times. I think it was a joke not an attempt to keep it secret.

Wow all this debate about what the hut is made out of. I was just trying to see whats up there. Now I know its empty. No mats, no kami, no peaple at all. Just a grey wood hut and some buildings. Now I know why they kept it a secret. It an unfinished part of the game.
