TBH with what's on these forums mostly, i'm not sure that 'keeping it alive' is what's happening :p . Maybe only for the ten or so that post here but that's about it. I feel sure in the knowlege though that for anyone who ever spent a reasonable amount of time in Ryzom they will always have one eye in the goings on for the future of Ryzom even if they don't voice it here.
If any serious news comes up Boroshi will start a fresh (hopefully locked) thread straight away i'm sure. So it would only take a glance here to see any real development.
Much respect to you though Anissa for stating your opinion like this because i'm not nearly so diplomatic, (as you can see :p ) so didn't bother.

*Gags on the cutsy sickliness of too many recent Ryzom threads*
*Smacks silly inane forum emoters*
*Toasts the long future of Ryzom with a shot of gratcha venom (75% proof)*

*Hides from any possible backlash*

I agree, but perhaps it should be done as soon as new info can be given, replacing this thread

I've tried hard to find a way to say this without sounding like an {x}ss, and I am not sure there is any, so I'll try to be soft and voice my opinion.... but I can't help thinking that, for the last weeks, these forums are becoming more and more not worth reading.

I understand that the lack of news is disappointing, but there are quite a few threads already for players to keep, to name it simply, the "forums alive", or just to allow folks to "keep in touch" with IG/RL friends. However, I don't think that the "limbo" situation Ryzom is now, or the fact that moderation is quite "tolerant", can justify the degradation that we (or at least I, subjectively,) perceive. I, for one, still want to check this and other potential sources of news regularly, in hope of a new future for the game.

I am less and less hopeful that any new post in this "update on the current situation" brings something insightful -- this is without even mentioning other threads, but those I don't mind -- I would humbly / kindly request that we try to keep spamming/IRC-like posts to a low threshold.

I'm well aware of that, and as far as I know, no one has jumped to rush conclusions. My point was more a complaint about the late spamming, affecting not only this but a few threads, that the usefulness of the thread (If this thread has lost its purpose, then "unsticky" it?). Or do you imply that since it's been "said over and over again" it's ok to keep on filling page after page of one-liners, "woots" and completely unrelated posts, (spam, in my book)?
As usual Ani, you cut straight to the point in a very eloquent manner

I must admit I've been thinking the same for the past few days and wondering on the best way to accomplish it - pruning out the "spam" from this thread would be fairly arbitrary and, as well as fragmenting some dialogues, would most likely end up with a 5page thread of "spam" and a 45page thread made up of some news and a lot of only tenuously-related conversation, so would end up becoming less and less useful again as people gravitate to the longer thread (I actually had a look for a split-point and that's the best I could come up with :o ).

As some people have already pointed out, any news worth posting would warrant its own new thread, but this one (at least some of its content) has to remain as an announcement of the trouble; some people are still coming back from an absence and wondering what's going on.

So, the solution I've chosen is that we now have a new locked "news" thread here and I've threadjacked Sasi's fresh thread with the contents of this one :o This thread has quite a few worthwhile posts, and big threads are usually the preferred target for general posts - feel free to continue in here.

Any news that I get in the future will be posted in a new thread for your comments and also in the locked news thread. :)

Thank you Boroshi. As usual, you manage to herd this pack of unruly children with tact and thoughtful action.

I'm confused, of course, but when was it otherwise?

Yeah, sorry, I guess i just misread your post initially as a "nothing ever happens, why do we bother even looking" kind of post. Apologies.
