Let's define RP as "pretending to be actors pretending to be characters," for the sake of consistency. Is it bad acting? Well, it's not Shakespeare, but that's where imagination comes in. 1. What happened was NOT the so-called "open PvP" that the last patch supposedly introduced. What happened could have happened just as well in the Matis arena. In fact it *did* happen in the Matis arena tonight. All that happened last night was that some players killed some players in Nexus. Period.

Just so I have everything clear here... let me get this straight... I want to make sure that I have this little timeline clear

* You declare open season on harvesters
* Other folks tell you to sod off and stop making trouble.
* Other folks come kick your ass for being an idiot when You declared open season on harvesters
* Other folks come and talk about how you were a jerk and how they told you to sod off at the end of a pointy stick.
* You come and cry about how you were overpowered and it wasn't fair, all without bothering to think about or even consider that it might not have been a fair fight with any of the harvesters that were killed by your little stunt. Your reasoning seems to be because even though you declared open season on harvesters, you somehow did not provoke folks and give them reason to attack you?

It wasn't a story... it was the one thing done that was not in good fun. I provided a screenie showing 9 folks attacking outside the area we had declared our fun would take part in.

We have pretty much found the ultimate way to give everyone a break from the standard grind... I can see by the majority here that it will be fine and we will always have negative folks like you that want to make noise. What I also said since you have shown yourself to be a historian of "DTisms" is that we dont attack anyone in roots that hasn't proven to be hostile by attacking our harvesters. Did that warrant the 9 v 1 griefing at the portal ? My bad... You all did the same to Wylkroe as well, it's all fun unless someone tries to make it not fun... apparently thats the role you and a small small minority are taking.

Actually the only thing that stuck out and made us change anything was the folks we sparred with were using gear we made for them in many cases. We have stopped selling outside guild pretty much now...

Does that mean you would have left kami, and even more importantly neutral harvesters alone? If so, then most of my posts towards you and the rest of the melinoe folks aren't completely deserved. Even if the answer to that question is a loud "of course", it's important for these things to be said loudly and clearly. Just because some civilized folks can manage to behave themselves in the interest of everyone's fun, doesn't mean that it will happen another time in a few months when a guild filled with less civilized folks does so. It's important for it to be made clear that going out and taking pot shots at harvesters isn't acceptable, and that is why I've been so hard on you... it was never made clear in this thread that peaceful uninvolved harvesters are not targets.

As to your continued complaint about being killed by a group of high level folks when you were all by yourself... well... the importance of a system that deals with portal camping, and making it something folks don't want to do, was brought up in some of those massive pvp threads. The answer to the folks who brought it up was essentially "STFU you have 30 seconds". The importance of making folks consider playing nice and behaving themselves like folks that actually have to continue living in this world tomorrow was brought up many times... and folks were told just not to go there.

Do I approve of 9 on 1 gank fests at the portal? Not really... Is it something that you pretty much should have expected would happen to you if you went in alone after starting things?.. probably. Is it an example of why concequence free open PvP needs more work? most definately

It was the most fun I'v ever had. Before this night I had lost faith, I had lost hope
due to the endless grind. Now I have new goals to aim for and I know for a fact that when
a kitin raid does come and we all have to band together, the people that I fought with and

PVP benifits us all. Makes us quicker on the draw. Faster on the take down. Harder and willing to finish some poor kiten when you think the chips are down. I also teaches you team movement, cover and formation. PVP helps us challange ourselves as well as have FUN doing it.

CP is down with any guild that wants to get up a 2v2 tournement or a 9v9 tournament or like some scrimage or Royal Rumble matches. I for one would not mind the formation of a league to have regular 9v9 matches, once a week once every two weeks something like that.

Anyone or guild that wants to get something going shout out in game or in this thread.

So, per tetra, you can feel free to enter the arena, or any other PVP zone in the game, and as long as you are wielding a pick, you should be untargettable.

I don't recall even seeing that pvp option pitched at the devs.. you should start a campaign and see how many you can get behind you. The devs might actually code for it if you make enough noise.

Until then, let's be realistic. In a PVP zone every person in a potential enemy. Just because they have a pick in their hands right now doesn't mean they wont attack me later, or heal my enemies.

So, how bout we just play the pvp game the way it is implemented in the game right now. Many seem to be enjoying themselves with pvp..

The fact is.. PVP is in. It is setup the way the devs have decided to set it up. If you do not like the way it is set up.. yell at the devs, not the players that are playing within the rules of the game.
