My big concern is this idea of PvP relating to sources. I play mmo's to meet new people and make friends. I like to work with my friends to solve problems. I don't want to be competing against players for resources. It's not fun to me. It creates hard feelings, griefing, and a host of other problems.
Others have brought up the idea of hardcore vs casual gamers. I have to agree. Why force players to camp to get anything. Sure, some people with a lot of time will always get the best out of these games, but more casual players want to have fun too.
There is a difference between making people earn things and just making them tedious. Make the game a fun and rich experience for your player base.

Hear, hear! Make the game MORE FUN! As it is, it's very tedious to level different foraging skills, so make it worth our while to do so, huh? Make it more fun before worrying about making it harder. Geez, devs, give us a break, huh?

1) Some MPs of high quality will be very hard to forage for a player who doesn't have the sufficiant skill level. This will happen in particular in the prime roots. But the prime roots remain interesting for foragers of lower levels, although they can't forage the best MPs.
2) The deposits will have a limited quantity of MP. Once the players have foraged everything in the deposit, it will remain empty for some time. This should have a big impact in the PvP zones, as players will be able to defend their deposits against other players.
Yeah, good job. I like these 2 points.

More improvement to the second point. Instead of drying up and waiting for the mats to respawn, IMHO, I feel that it is better to have the MP randomly changed its location to another place with full MP. This way, it will be fair to everybody as all need to find that location again. (and not those who hogged that place will get it)

Must be Nevrax's fault. Stop arguing about this sorts of things. Decide on whether to appeal to PVP or non-PVP players Nevrax? Then the other group can decide whether to join in the crowd or to quit
Hee, once again stirring up troubles

I think that's their plan. If you don't/can't enjoy a region, no point in going there.

Hee it's so simple. And as always I follow this principle.
Yet again troubles follow

Why does everyone come here to complain about EQ...oh, wait, they want to make this INTO EQ...
I fear that this is going from a niche game to oblivion...too bad, it had such potential when it was original.

I haven't even been playing for one full month yet, and I'm already starting to say "soo.. where'd the game I liked go?" when I read announcements/patch notes.
This is not a good thing.

If a NEW player feels this way, imagine how those of us who've been around longer feel when we see these things...

After repairing the damage to the " Agro Patch", Where a lot of players "Friends" left the game, you want to create more hard feelings. I play the game to have fun, not to be killed while foraging. You will pit Guild against Guild causing all out war. You will cause players to turn against each other. The more I think about it the dumber it seems. It's bad enough just trying to get to a PR source. PR should be available at different levels in different places. Work on that. I've only been able to get to one once. Make seperate places for PVP Like the Arena in Matis.
