What did you do edit death 6 onwards to try to disprove the rule of 10 deaths = max dp? LMAO. I dont care if you have some wierd bug where you dont get DP during one of your deaths but the fact still is DP is based on your highest skill and your max DP = 10 times the DP calculated from that highest skill.

I DID NOT EDIT IT AND I WILL EMAIL EVERYONE WHO WANTS A COPY OF THE CLIENT.LOG FILE TO SEE THE ENTIRE THING

Do NOT state that I edited it when in FACT this is the entire freaking copy / paste that I did in a rush to get back to work, give me a list of emails to everyone you want my client.log file emailed to and tonight when I get home I will send it.

This is what the system reported at every death and how it reported it, in accordance to how it rounds off the dp during a death, go ahead give me emails of every single person you want the log file emailed to, so put up or shut up.

Did you find it surprising that your 6th death did not increase DP?

Just wondering, is it possible that it may be a small rounding issue, which made that once the DP increase was rounded to a integer the result was zero, so making it 11 deaths (we are talking about 1 DP units)? Althought you had to die 11 times, you maxed your DP that was ten times the DP. In other words, I agree with you, yes, I agree that it takes more than 10 deaths to max DP if when you die you don't get DP.

Zumwalt I really dont care about a 1/1/1/1 char as it can indeed be a fluke to rounding as IPH stated. If you want to do a real test use your character and post the results as 1/1/1/1 char is not a valid sample of what a real character on atys is level wise :P

Not with a 1/1/1/1 character, I expected it to be 1 - 10 in sync based on the formula that was presented to be real in game.

If at 6, it rounded to 6.4 dp, and then rounded down to 6, then yes I could see how it was 6 then 6 in this instance.

This was just a burst test with a brand new character with 0 experience in every category.

And we are only talking about 1 dp units, level 1 x 10 = 10 max dp at 10 deaths and loss of 1 dp per death.

I will be doing additional tests tonight and from now on, I will put the log out on a webspace where it can be downloaded on top of posting the results.

I do NOT edit the logs to put them in my favor, if I am wrong, then I admit I am wrong, but I do NOT lie to make it sound like I am right, in this test I was right, it can be more than 10 deaths.

My dp works according to the stated formula, although I haven't checked exactly (death 11 may raise it a few points due to rounding I suppose). My max dp is definitely 10 times my single death penalty.

If your penalty has gone up to 3 million, Zum, that's probably a bug.

Lukati, this has become more of a thread on what is actually really going on with dp in game, I have my own impression as to how exp tables work, and I currently am in a disagreement with others about this.

So, I want to set my own personal records straight, if what I have on paper is wrong, I want to shred it and write down what is correct, I hate having false information about things like this.

Its useless information to mostly everybody in general, but I am very anal about wanting facts.

If I am wrong, awesome, I am wrong, give me good information, but if I am right, then I am just as happy as I would be if I was wrong and someone gave me real data to show my flaws and put me in the right path.

I was wrong in how I approached her post on DP, and I appoligized for it.

It's also very useful information for those of us who max out dp on a regular basis. And provides some very handy insight into the system itself.
