From all of the examples given by those who tested on the ATS server (and a big thanks and good job goes out to them), this hasn't been tested. They were all trying to go for max quality. In the patch notes itself, they say to try for Quality OR Quantity, not both.
so, until they go research this end, I'm with Shrike, and stand by the belief that it's much more likely a good thing than a bad one.

HELLO,
We were going for max quantity as well as quality, we tested several different combinations for hours. Jeebus christ. Sick of repeating that.

Given enough people harvesting and putting mats on consignment, it should work as intended. If not, then it just slows you down at those higher levels. Too bad.
There is no reason someone should be breaking 200 one month after the game comes out. I'm sure that's not what was intended.
you know whether you like it or not, or whether you think it is fair or not the point is that powergamers are good for the game........
They are like Lewis and Clark, somebody has to go first......and fast well, so what? They are the guides that we need so the rest of us can follow, no matter how slow or causal we are. Here is a RL example......
You know there are many out in the tech world who think that gaming does not drive the technology market, but the facts speak for themselves, regular pc users have no need for the mega machines that the gamers use, but the general population sure does benefit from the gamers, cause as hot new merchandise comes on the market the other forms of technology become more affordable for the rest of us.....I would love to be able to afford a $500.00 vid card, but believe me I am glad that the one I use was within my price range and I CAN play quite adaquately with it. So goes the powergamers in ANY game...
I am glad they are there, and for gripes sake don't you think that anyone who develops a game or market knows what the system will do???? At least in a general way, such as market trends and forecasts of economic movement. That's why they have business classes...and for that matter

Funny Shrike that you're the only one who sees it like you do. Do you think just having more posts will compensate for the fact that you're the only one living in this absurd game world of yours?
I hope Nevrax learns soon to stop paying attention to the nerf cryers in every game. Nerf callers rarely have any objective of balance or fun, they're just envious of others. In the lack of story and other content the main game is leveling, and many people just measure themselves against others. When they can't compete against those who have the time and ability to just excessively power level they cry nerf.
Foraging does not need a nerf, it needs a vision for what Nevrax really wants it to do.
Nevrax, what purpose or role do you expect foraging to fill? How do you expect to make it fun for players?
We're still failing to see a plan or advancement for either.

I just wanted to say thanks for the update.
I was also in Beta, Pre-Purchase, etc, never got my title (although I hear I am on a list to be fixed, thank goodness) and I still need the ATS login info as promised for my pre-purchase, did get my arm btw, looks similar to the caster gear.
Thanks for the info.

That's part of the problem.
Dont' max out all the properties. If you have long source time from the prospect, then your rate doesn't need to be huge.
Likewise, if your target mats are 150 for your crafters you are supplying, you don't need to get those max quality.
But, as I said, that's just what I'm picking up from observations, and I hope it holds true. Looking forward to trying it myself, and/or hearing about results any who test it out.

*hands svayvti a sweet*
Don't cry, everything will be fine.
After you are done with whining and find spare time from your personel vendetta towards me to think could you please explain to me who I should be envious of? One of my chars is a lvl 178 harvester, the other a lvl 95 crafter and 91 elemental mage. Any negative effect of these changes will hit me fully. Still, strangely enough I am mostly OK with them.
