Wow! You certainly dug out an oldie. ;)

Well, since you're asking for opinions:
1. I'm glad I stuck it out and survived Patch 1; the game turned out to be really, really fun. :)
2. The recent changes however, turned me off and I have since quit (back in December 2005).

Overall progress during that time was extremely slow (seemed to me anyway),
but bugs were worked out and needed balancing occurred, and the basic game was enjoyable. I would like to have seen some of the promised content, like getting married and having children, and who knows, if things like that get in, I may return. :)

That content already exists for roleplayers. ;)

yep great *repeatedly bangs head against wall*

read promised content (and withdrawn content :P )
would be a lot easier to rp with shared apps, actual children without creating alts etc

Was it promised in beta?

At the start, one of the things promised that set Ryzom apart was the idea of characters marrying, having children and ageing (am too tired to go trawling through looking for links :P ). However this was promised from a game mechanics side, not just rping as is done now. There was a recent announcement that this is no longer on the list to be implemented if you go back through the news, it should be there.

edit, i mean the marriage and children was promised, not app sharing lol

Nothing in the feature list of a game in beta is guaranteed. It should not be regarded as a promise or guarantee. Beta means subject to change. So if those features were announced in beta, there is no problem with the fact they didn't make it into the game.

Why, they can hunt yubos and izams while mom and dad hunt Gingos and Kippees, of course! :D

...better hope there's no adds though!

I suppose they could hire someone -- Ziina, Zorai warrior nanny! :p
