It is the lack of communication that prevents me from getting back into Ryzom very much; I just can't get excited and spend a lot of time in a game that has no identifiable developers. It is unbelievable that there has been no real communication, at all.

I am willing to overlook everything else: no new content, no advertising, etc. But there is a huge doubt about the game in my mind, and I won't spend any significant time developing a character in Ryzom.

If they are prevented from communicating by some legal constraint, then they should just say that. If they can't say even that, then I have little hope for the game's future. It is beginning to feel like a bootleg operation ....

I can understand where you are coming from Olepi, I was feeling the same way, til...I saw that announcement about the event/events.

Our whole guild plus many many others showed up to be slaughtered a few times by the massive bosses in PR and the Wastelands.

The newbie starter place has had a onceover, to correct texts and add some new missions, evidently making it a little more interesting for first timers, which I think is a highly important first step.

We want those new people here...we need them to be here, and won't it be fun to have oodles more people running around, asking questions in Uni and so on?

Other thing that has changed is..honour points for pvp have been brought back. Evidently they existed in the game already 4 years ago, but due to whatever they were taken out for that period of time.

Now they are back, and on Arispotle at least, people are pvping like mad every day...hehe

I still have a feeling there is more to come in regards to the Kitins, I mean the Kitin Patrols are back in PR.....the Kitin Observers are stating nothing to report yet..but the Kitin are restless.......

How much you want to bet ..lol I just have this feeling...

Anyways ..despite starting this thread a few days prior to the events happening...I think the Devs have made a good start....

I think more will be coming of course, but it WOULD BE NICE...(hehe) if they talked to us more. :D

KUDOS to the Devs...ya done good! :)

All I can say is that since the servers re-opened I have been on five or six times a week, though in a new primary character. I have been having fun, digging and crafting and working with new friends to kill bosses and nameds. I don't like Kitin Patrols (we're not *supposed* to like Kitin Patrols) but I have friends that have shown me how to get past them (mostly).

I would like to see the history-changing events, linked to the storyline, but in the meantime I need to build up some levels. I am not even close to a mastery in *anything*, and I like it that way. I would like to get a bit more healing levels, etc. I'd like to see the opening of the Canopy, too.

I'd like to hear from the owners, but I don't see the lack of communication as a reason not to develop my character and don't understand the remarks of those who do. If my time on Atys will be limited, then I want to build him as well as possible. If my time on Atys will be long, then I want to build him as well as possible. It's just like real life, we do what we can do with the time we're given.

Just some thoughts.

Bugger! I only just realized I missed a perfect opportunity to say: "Can I have your stuff?" :D

I totally agree. Ryzom is just too good and too beautiful not to play. I have been developing my character ever since they enabled inactive accounts. I don't play 24/7, but I still love to log in at least 5 times a week. I have never seen a game as gorgeous as Ryzom that can run well even on lower-end hardware. They did a great job with the engine.

That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing a few changes/additions made to the game:
* A better mail system (I know WoW isn't very good, but its Postal System is second to none)
* More team-loot options (Damage-Stack-Share, Leader-Take-All, etc...)
* More Storage - maybe by owning multiple apartments.

You mean the lazy internet kind of a real paper book like meririam webster ? (MW also has an internet version).

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/veteran

"Vet·er·an ...... 2: a person of long experience usually in some occupation or skill (as politics or the arts)"

Sorry couldn't resist :)

I was in TPM?

WK is whitekknight... he's been on Atys for years... When I last logged on months ago, he hadn't changed his name so I'm guess he's still WK. Can't believe no one remembers the knights...

Shame to see you go, WK. Say hi to the other knights for me and good luck on finding a new home.

Knowing that we all are just characters of your imagination, I hope you don't do that too much to all of us :P
