o.O
I think all of you need to just chillax, seriously.
SW hasnt had time to actually fully prove themselves yet. For now we would all do well to just give SW the benefit of the doubt and see what happens, i promise all of you will have ample oppurtunity to say: "I told you so" later.
also if jacko gets a bio-mech suit i want to look like a PR kami!

well lets see, they have done only so much so far, can you fully judge someone with only a few actions? as soon as billing is up for at least a month and more announcements are made concerning content, patches, doomsday, etc... then we'll know their true character.
also as far as i know we've been playing a kinda "beta" version w/o paying a cent, so what was everyone expecting these last 3 months and 8 days to be like?

The thought of someone handing me a project as large as taking over the Ryzom codebase, and learning it, and starting to fix bugs, and making new features, and getting all the marketing projects lined up and running, and getting all the business processes (billing, etc.) set up and running, all while a bunch of impatient customers are breathing down my neck and complaining.... well, it gives me the shivers.
Three months, four months, six months... I say it's a huge mountain of work even with a larger organization than I suspect SW has. The fact that they let us play with what already existed while they work on it makes me very happy indeed.
I know many of you old-timers are sick of waiting, waiting, waiting. Just remember that Nevrax and GF are gone, these folks are not the ones who made you wait all those other times. (They're just the ones who are making you wait now...
)
But seriously, enjoy your free access to the game you love, if you want to, or do something else to kill the waiting time. Another month is really not that long, when you get to play the whole time.

I guess 3 months and 8 days is a pretty big amount of time to have only a few actions to judge by. They have done only so much so far, and that's what makes some of us nervous... sorta gives the impression of a skeleton crew on a shoestring budget.

Actually it's some of the same people, and we're playing 'beta tester' for them. Just to clarify.

Most people said a few months; give them time.
Well, time is passing and nothing of real importance has materialized.
I asked not for any immediate changes to the game itself, be it bugfixing or new content. I asked only for a presentation of the new owners, and what kind of plans they have for Ryzom's future.
Most of you go: Yay!; whenever they choose to pass along bits of information.
Trouble is, the bits so far only makes me think they have no budget - thus asks for help in all corners. What have they presented so far that should give us a firm belief in Ryzom's future? I mean in clearly set terms.
This game, it's developers and community seems to be based first and foremost on one single point - wishful thinking.
To make a dream come true, it needs to start building on something more tangible.
Sorry, but I cannot join your happy singing. This looks all to familiar to me. Going down a third time is not what I wanted

Well said Karmelit !
The truth is you will always get those who will hang on no matter how bad the game plays or how low the population is in game and thats whats keeps this game Ryzom alive for now.
I still have hope!....maybe this time its gonna kick into life. I just ain't gonna hang about in game waiting for it to happen..i did that for two plus years like many other's who played Ryzom and left thinking this game could have been so good!
All the best!

I'd rather they realise that they don't have the budget to hire translators, marketers etc. than just go blazé spending money left and right on things they can't afford.
