Part of me wants to weep at the losses we've sustained, the amazing people who just won't come back.

And part of me wants to say, "Don't let the door hit you on your way out."
Maybe we will be better off with some deadwood cleared out. Maybe the new owners will actually advertise and we'll get some awesome new players who will add a ton of fun to the place. I've certainly enjoyed chatting with some of the new folks stuck on Silan, just waiting for something to move so they can subscribe. What an amazing group that is, to stick with it based only on hope and a recognition of how great this place is. So see ya laterz loozers. Buh bye.

Then I go back to weeping...

This thought Process brings to mind A story I was told at business studies......

.............Crabs are a social creature who have a herding instinct which surprised me, When they wander into the fishing pots they are content to sit and wait, And any crab that finds an exit will be prevented from leaving by the others...It's an unusual phenomenon, and some speculate it is possible this behavior can be observed in other species.

I don't take offence at being accused of 'abandoning the pot'......But I guess I am not someone who organises my limited relaxation time around A strangers Business plan.

Interesting metaphor - however it assumes that someone is going to come along and eat us.

Also - unless you are personally acquainted with the business planners at GameForge, I'd have to disagree with your last statement. I clearly remember you organizing your relaxation time around their plan...

And Mugendo, dear, you are one of those for whom I weep. I will sorely miss you if you are not around.

Ah.....you refer to the days when the company wanted my money...it was a time both customer and provider were reading from the same hymn sheet.

Today I don't know if I am an asset or a Liability in the plans of the GF....
I can speculate or postulate.....or Vacate.....

I chose the latter, as I accept I have no control over the unfolding events.
The Ryzom community will not survive (look around for confirmation of this)...But the people will settle in other areas and many hours of reminicing are ahead when we bump into them.

Loyalty is a noble trait, and easily manipulated for other gains.....Therefore My loyalty remains for the friends I have met, not for a faceless company.

Don't forget Ice, the world is full of strangers to many.....I view the world full of friends I have not had time to meet yet. GF gave me that time ;)
