You should be ashamed of your lame management of Ryzom's asset, with all the staff laid off, and a dying community.

And power to the players, means communication, not after, but before by the way.

Who's dying? Someone, somewhere, will buy it back. No way a game this good can disappear. Get in a ring, there's probably going to be plenty of good ones in the next three weeks.

Hello

I`m a player from Leanon and I`m very worried about the destiny of Ryzom. GF France maybe had all done, what they had can do by herself. I hope still deep in my heart, that Ryzom alives. And let us see in the future: there is anyone, who buys Ryzom and laying it in hands with a responsible-position.

There is a future for this super game lke the sun rise and go down every day!!!

I hope it deep in my heart. And hope never die!

For a long time now, since way back in the first Open Beta, all through Focus Beta, Final Beta and release, Ryzom has been a part of my life. When Nevrax developed and released the game, they had a dream, an 8 year story line on an evolving planet. I always thought I'd be a part of that story line to the end. I always said I would be here until the day they switched the servers off. Now it looks like that day may come, though I hope we will get another reprieve.

It will be a very sad day if Ryzom dies prematurely.

If the worst does happen...
I hope they can sort the server issues so that it at least becomes possible to visit the game while it is still here.
I want to watch the sunset and sunrise over Flaming Forest one last time.
I hope we will be warned before it is gone for good.

I haven't read every thread on this subject, makes me too sad. Has anyone set up a forum somewhere for refugees to get together in readiness for the day this one is gone?

hmm... I think no one will buy Ryzom during the period of 3 weeks, then after the liqiudator will be appointed and the company bakrupted, maybe then Ryzom will be bought because the price will go down... Ah hell! Who knows, maybe there are buyers for ryzom already. Its a good product and the only reason it wasnt profitable, cause it wasnt sold at all, no advertisment, no add-ons, just maintainence. Its not like it didnt find its nieche, its players. I remember when Ryzom started there was a lot of players there. Who are the potential buyers do you think? Blizzard, Sony, Ncsoft? I dunno about you but i think it would be best if blizzard buys it, they never let a project go down...

By the way we have the best community there :) And the best chat :) And who of you wouldnt miss yubos? :)

Hi all, sorry to see Ryzom in this shape. The basic problem is that the bills cannot be paid. So:

- assets have value, and will be sold. This is the code, the server hardware (if owned), and possible IP
- the expenses will be stopped, including server bandwidth, employee costs, facilites (office space), etc

I love the game, but in its current state, it will never be a big profitable hit. Let's say I have 1 million in cash, do I invest in something that has a 1% return, or something that doubles my money? So attracting a buyer of the game, as is, will be difficult. The best that could happen is that somebody buys the game, and sets it up on cheap servers somewhere. Hire some Indian or Chinese software people to maintain it, and eek out some profit.

Otherwise, somebody has to be convinced that adding some development work will make the game increase in profits dramatically. This is a hard sell now, with the game being older, and who knows what kind of shape the code is in? It might not be easy and cheap to add new features.

Lastly, the code and IP could just be sold and chopped up to be used in another game.

I've been a paying customer continuously, even though I didn't play months at a time, because I like this game. Loading up some good music to listen to as I ride my mount out to explore and dig is something no other game can even touch. The community of people that will come to help you, or you help them, was awesome. The level of intelligence required to really play the game winnowed out a lot of people, making this community one of the best. My Arispotle guild OoTN was fantastic!

Anyway, here's hoping for the best :)

Hello everyone. I've read many of the posts concerning the loss of our community and our world. I will miss it all if the game does actually die, but the saddest part for me is the fact that this was the first MMO I played. I am spoiled on my first go-round...Such diverse lands and characters, creatures, the people behind the characters, the skills, the complex art of crafting,... I could go on and on, you all know what I mean. I had never heard of this game before a friend of mine, Xyrana Delfinyian, invited me to Silan to see this wonderful, beautifully complex world she loved so much, which I have grown to love as well. If Ryzom does fall, I am almost certain I will not find a more beautiful array of people, lands, skills, creatures or environment, all of which make Atys such a special place. Unless, of course, one comment I read stated that a re-launch after upgrading the game is still possible by a new buyer, then maybe I can experience it all again.
If we are to part ways with Ryzom, I will miss you all. There are too many to name in all their glory, but here are a few:

Xyrana - You brought me into this world (literally) and helped me understand and learn my abilities and introduced me to some really amazing people. You were a stern teacher, but I feel that helped me grow and develope. Love you Hon, thank you.

Enon Etchmarc - I have missed you over these last few months, you were very helpful and generous to me and I appreciate all you did. Thank you.

Michellexx - You were one of the first people I met when I came to the mainland, and were kind and helpful. We kept in touch, and became friends (sometimes allies and sometimes on opposite sides of an OP battle :) ) . I'll miss our chats. Thanks for being a friends and teacher.

Sygma - Hmm, we finally got our armors, titles, and masks to match Bro, not sure why you went with the hair color you did, but hey, we had fun and I enjoyed our hunts and chats. Come join us!! You are being left behind!!

Braveganzar - I think everyone has said so many things about you that I will just be repeating, but you are a wonderful, kind, generous and loving Homin. Thank you for all you have done for me. (BTW wanna share your amp recipies??) :)

There are many, many more: Cabelyn, Hatori, AJ, Riveit,Viper, Xtarsia, Vrixy, Jela, Jez, Kas, Kedino, Lomil, Crailus, Saraii, Ffi, Xax, Red, ...........the list goes on.

I sincerely hope the server/ownership issues get setteled and we can all come together again and grow as a community some more. Until then, don't leave Ryzom just yet, the rings are mostly lag free, and people are making more each day to say goodbye and go on one last hunt, or just get together and plot a way to save our world we all love so dearly.

So, I'll say thank you once again to everyone in the community for making Atys such a fun and pleasant place to be.

Currently (at time of posting) Arispotle is running lag-free :D

The other servers are still lagged, so we don't expect this situation to last indefinately, but enjoy it while we can

Someone please reply to this when the server starts slowing down incase I'm out and can't do it :o
