After long silence comes the storm, or something in that style.
(either good or bad, and not necessarily from their side, though...)

If Gameforge needs developers why not look out for volunteer developers and contract them on NDA? I'm sure several of us will only be glad to help out.

"Its not the lack of content or bugs that hurts but rather the waiting.. the wait for a single response."

Would GF:

1) Respond? - No
2) Sell of the game? - Definitely No
3) Accept investors? - Not at all or simply no wish to respond.
4) Accept partners? - Still no.
5) Continue Ryzom Ring? - No.
6) Run an invasion? - No.

*sigh* disappointing.. but I wont give up hope yet. :)

At least the 3rd anniversary celebrations looked fun.

Phelan stated that 21 eployees from Nevrax were "assimilated", that Gameforge did not buy only a Game, they bought a company, Nevrax that became GF France. I am not sure whether French laws forces GF to keep them employed past one year after the company was bought. It is however hard to tell whether the manpower of 20 person / year (regardless of development, art, 3d, design, story skills) are not being correctly managed, or whether these resources are being commited to other projects.

That said, having followed Ryzom development since 2002, it is possible to check the progress of what was implemented and released and during what period of time (e.g. what Nevrax could develop in the early days and how development has been since early 2005). It is unfortunately not possible to see the results of 20 people working on a game for 6+ months, or at least I can't

1) Respond? - No
The bad thing is the lack of answers. Gameforge is being very reluctant to publicly assert in these forums their past, present and future commitment to Ryzom. In this case, players tend to come up with the most surprising theories. A few samples (not implying they are true)

1) GF thinks Ryzom will never be profitable. 300*3*15€ does not cover the minimum expenses. Servers may be up for as long as they income covers the hosting.

2) GameForge 4D Gmbh already publishes and operates the Metin-2 oriental action RPG (http://www.metin-2.com/?kid=1-02007-02002-0705-101121cc) not sure what can the role of Ryzom be in this case.

Conspiracy theories? most probably.

My main problem now, is that I am not sure how can new development improve things. Will the creation of other 3d landscapes with whatever placement of the same 3d entities change the game substantially ? I think not. Another continent with "same ol thing" (e.g. pink yubos and white gibbais) ? I hope not

When Temples and OPs where coming I was all for it, but, over time I have played other PvP games and my own opinion is that ryzom PvP is not all that great and that small communities are less able to bare the drama that those sort of things bring.

The strength in Ryzom that I see is the PvE side, it always was it biggest strength really. Yet, it is the least developed in the last few years. Expansion of the digging and crafting system, more life in the homin battle against the kitin threat. Like the kitin spires as someone said in another thread, things like that. Homins needs more reasons to work together like before. I think dev in this direction would be a start. Not holding my breath though.

a very large portion of extra content is already in the game files though.....

there isn't THAT much work needed to implement it.

:(

It's true that there is ALOT of content in the files, although if its not alot of work to put them in the actual game is another story...lets think of the last patch and the bugs, although they have put alot of work in it ( I hope ). So if we want all the content that is coded in the game we could be surprised how much effort it can take.

On another note, im sure some people here are more then willing to help the devs with getting patched with new content, but in reality this is almost not possible due to alot of things I just cant start listening...

just my 2 dappers...

Metin 2 ? * Slip her fingers into his throat *
I can't understand, how can one work on other mmo game (and really more than average in quality) whereas one have a game like ryzom, with a so enormous potientel…
There was so much error..
Why one continue with the same errors?
* make an prayer for not lose the game of my dreams *
