That's right, it isn't a big problem. The only reason it has caused a problem now is because it is the same guild at the same OP!
Idiocy for making the Honest mistake twice, or exploiting to save your OP are both good reasons to have the guild in question be penalised! But as I expected, Monday came, nothing has happened!

Would you prefer that, A) GF do nothing about it while they (hopefully) work on a fix, and guilds can continue to exploit this at OP battles and the exploiters go unpunished, or B) GF make this so it CAN'T HAPPEN while they fix it. I don't understand why this is such a difficult concept to grasp.

How might your answer change if, because of this "bug", an outpost changed hands? What if it left YOUR possession because of this "bug"? You've heard the uproar caused by this happening a second time. Can you predict the uproar if this happened yet again AND was instrumental in an outpost changing owners?

Think about what's good for the game, more than just about your own personal enjoyment at battles.

Well take a step back and think about what you said there a min....

Removing the ability to have OP wars is a bad thing for the game....

Let me explain a couple simple reasons why.

1) It is rather obvious that there is tension regarding the OP wars in general. There needs no bug or exploit to see people spouting off like prepubescent idiots .
There are not many left, but there are plenty of Kami's that may harbor grudges against how old OP wars panned out. It's THESE OPs that you are suggesting that the Kami shouldn't be able to declare on if they so wish even tho a few people would yet again use crappy game tactics to gain an unfair advantage.

RESULT:

Kami say bite me GF and Kara this game is not fun anymore, there are plenty of other better balanced games that offer a slightly less buggy and more balanced PvP/GvG/FvF. Thereby you lose a major aspect of the original plan for the OP wars in the first place.....If the opposing faction leaves the game whats left? (also a good thing for the now totally dominating kara to consider the next time you think of cheating or useing unfair tactics to keep an OP, say what you will but I can guarentee that not 100% of the OP held are held due to 100% legit tactics to gain the win)

2) Similar to #1, But if the OP were disabled for attack, you best be certain that again the Kami and other neutral or rouge Kara will be pissed if they can't have a stab at the benifits that come from an OP.

If they were combat disabled, the Drills better be too.

RESULT: Pissed off Kara who think their plans for world domination have come unrewarded. Time passes and due to track records we as Ryzom gamers have gotten used to (aside from what GF will or will not do), and the Kara people that enjoy the benifits from all these OP and the Kara that are PvP centered will possably quit givin enough time of the OP not being *turned back on* Along with that the Kami that still like PvP getting bored also and quitting for similar reasons.

So in a nut shell.......stop pushing a not very well thought out suggestion. It should NOT happen unless a viable alternative to the current PvP vs Reward system is replaced or supplemented. This suggestion IS NOT good for Ryzom and it nieve to think there is a remote chance that it is given the history of faction wars and dialog between the factions.

The guild that banned the player did nothing wrong. IF you choose to keep pointing a finger, determine who the players are/were and point it there. If there is abuse to this feature it is by the player joining the wrong faction (if intentional). If it is a mole, then GF should take action with the account holder. If it was a player that made a mistake, that cannot be helped completely.

If it being done maliciously by a players alt., shame on them and GF should take a hard stand there. The guild banning from an OP attacks is not the factor, it "may" have been the same guild only because they were the ones being attacked. Had the attack been on Melinoe, I'd expect any officer would have done the same thing to get rid of spies etc... This has little to do with TNE, but feel free to continue making noise about this "exploit"...

Content patches take their time and well, all I have to say is that as long as they spend quite a bit of time on making sure that everything is working properly then I'm happy. As for the bug, if you send a CSR a ticket and talk to them without being enraged, if you go at them after they're being polite and answering you properly to you then of course your going to get automated replies. If not, then well let's just say I've had my fair share of GM bashing on World of Warcraft as well, which is one of the reasons I quit, Give them a proper detailed report and I'm sure they'll look into it, the CSR's are decent folks compared to most MMORPG's.

I made a post about gf what they call exploits, and you blame players cause they abuse an "exploit".
If there is someone to blame isn't the players but gf.

karavan wasn't happy when nexus used a wall of pakers and gm's told was an exploit : what gm did , they came and moved all our pakers (they didn't solve the problem, but at least they changed something during the battle).

GF ask us to send a ticket when we discover an exploit or something like that but why if gf never work on this exploit to change it ?

I'm maybe basic but players do something --> gf consider it's an exploit--> work on this thing and remove this exploit.

instead of that, a wall of paker is an exploit but we can still do it, use a spell behind a wall or behind a building is an exploit but we can still do it, ban a full guild during and op battle is an exploit but we can still do it.....

Instead of do there job, gf will ban a player cause he'll use an exploit i think it's funny.

PS : since january the welcome page of ryzom website is the same.
is it so hard to fix it ? if yes let us know i'm sure we have some players who are good enough to fix it for you .

Therown strikes me as an honest player! I do tend to believe her when she said she did it accidently again. But that doesn't stop the fact that she instantly stopped 11 people attending the battle. Kamis can not spare 11 players at an OP war!
Because it may have been an accident again, doesn't mean the quild in question shouldn't be penalised for it.

Accidently choosing the wrong side to begin with is not comparable to accidently banning an entire guild, because the later is permanent!

As far as I'm aware only the HO's/leader of the attacking/defending guilds can banish!

Ultimately it is of course the fault of the devs for poor implimentation of these kinds of exploitable options/tools/physics! But the players have a choice whether or not to exploit them. If they choose to exploit them, or accidently exploit them persistantly, that doesn't make it alright!

Ahh, you (and others, it seems) have selective reading skills. Let me help by quoting my most recent post (previous posts also say the same things):

There, I've also helpfully stressed a few key words that you clearly overlooked while reading the first time.

Just to re-emphasize, I did NOT suggest removing outpost wars from the game so that things could just stay as they are. Sorry to be mean and rude, but if you can't see that, you need to spend time re-learning how to read again. Or just think less about what you want to say and write until after you've read the whole post. Several times.

All I said was that they should be disabled UNTIL THE FIX HAS BEEN FINISHED, TESTED, AND RELEASED to prevent the possibility of abuse (or "accidents") before that time. That is a suggestion based on my own experience as being the best possible way to temporarily resolve a hot issue, and keep it from becoming any more inflamed, until it can be corrected. Obviously GF can and will do what they see as the best thing to do, and obviously no matter what GF does, someone will whine.

So whine all you like while not completely reading the posts ... I'm certain that GF has better reading comprehension skills, and they are the ones I am addressing anyway.
