Would I be willing to risk everything I have ground for? If propperly persuaded, yes. Actions have to have meaning, some games just need risk.
Ironically (I think perhaps it is ironic), it was Jeziellia's decision that caused the "death" or the possiblity of it, but the initial idea was brought up by the player of the character that would die. It's an odd situation to explain, really, but no one was forced or pressured. We had multiple outs, but those involved opted to go with it, and it was a very rewarding experience.sidusar wrote:Interesting. In the environments I've roleplayed in (much less than you ofcourse) that would be considered extremely rude of the player running the show. Me making and mastering a Ring scenario, inviting you and a few other players in, and then suddenly confronting Jezi with a situation where she could permanently die, without discussing it with you first? That would be forcing something on someone else's character, completely unacceptable.
Ah, but perma-death in RP may be permanent, but is only rarely irrevocable. From what I've seen, players usually put in little plot-hooks that allow them to revive the character later on, just in case they'll regret killing them off.jennaelf wrote:I should put a warning on stuff like perma-death in RP: "For experienced roleplayers only."
