So again, you have an advantage you don't wanna lose...poor thing. Why not just say I want all the toys and I don't want anyone else to play with them.

I've always thought that the higher level towns in Fyros being in higher level zones was a significant advantage to being a Fyros. You can walk right outside of Dyron and dig up to q200. Also mobs seem easy to avoid in the desert with no foliage to block the view. Aren't desert and jungle generally considered the easiest digs now? Lakeland is likely the toughest dig above q200 but since the Loria and HH tps were turned on a year ago, its not really tough anymore either. Nexus forest supremes are nice but with everyone racing to level 250 these days, probably not all that significant in the grand scheme of things.

I chose Fyros because of the very reason that I can see everything coming. That works in lakes too, but with the added benefit of water everywhere to run too...desert has little of that.

As for the dig / town thing I am not sure....the one advanatge I do see seems spurious as the best thing I see about it is that when ya bag is full, it's easy to get to a stable of packers or a mat vendor. I often see peeps of lower levels at dyron dgging for this very reason, an action that would generate o few nasty PM's back in the day when KT was an issue.

I dug Oflaks and I dug Frahar Towers without the benefit of towns. As I advanced I found hawkers and safe afk spots just about everywhere away from the towns where I do dig. So while I would say it is a benefit until one realizes that teh benefits a town provides have an alternate out in teh regions once you know about them.

Another racial disparity that you might want to consider is the properties of named and bosses from each above ground region. If you look at the looted exc/sup mats available, I would say offhand the the desert has the best jewel mats, the jungle has the best weapon mats. Probably Matis is third best and Lakeland has the worst. *Riveit ponders pushing Shooketh to Loria. *

Well if ya killing bosses, I imagine you are tp'ing over all of Atys and since they basically a once per season / once per boot thing I don't know that any one race is disadvantaged. Having a TP on the Kirosta boss's doorstep might be considered a significant advantage since that probably among the most sought after boss mats but I am sure that the other TP placements provide similar advantages.

OThere is nohting stopping a Fyros from taking his pick to the forest floor.

Take toon race out of it. Take 4 Zorai toons, one each starting out in Matis, Zora, Pyr and Fairhaven. The one who chooses matis has the advantage. He can dig exe and therefore get more xp within meters of his arrival location and get more xp. He gets upo there and level and can dig supremes without having to level up a second region dig skill.

Then again, I play a matis as my main, so I wasn't supposed to comment here.

If you see an inequitable advantage that some starting out in any of the other lands has bring it up.

Now if you want to point out something that is imbalanced against matis, I am all ears.

Matis starting area is the hardest- as in you walk out the gate and are assaulted by lvl 40 gingos, which hide in the dark behind trees.

Matis natural magic protection is +20 poison.
Poison protection comes from both beng amber and sha amber.
All the other races get natural magic protection that are only high on creature bits, making it easier to make jewels for them (can use more amber and less eyes)

(For some silly reason they put acid protection on mob mats- it would make much more sense to have the racials on mob mats and just acid/rot/cold on amber)

As to Nexus and Forest-only Supreme materials: I can be killed on a whim while I'm hovering over a volatile node. It's also a very painful place to get to (sans group), and beyond that it is still very dangerous due to the torbak, cuttler, and gibbai that make their homes there.

I had hoped to learn about other things rather what so far in this thread seems to be just arguing about whether the one item mentioned is an inequity.

As far as the beng.....it's the only mat I know of that doesn't match it's area (other than SN's) so why is it there ? It looks like a mistake so what objection is there to fixing it.

As for the nexus, sure it's a tough spot....so is scorched corridor, so is Void, so is Loria ... if Forest can have it, why can't it a) be removed or 2) the other equally dangerous regions have it too ?

I have an easier time digging in Scorched Corridor or Void than Nexus.

Derailing this thread back to the original post, The Lakeland cities are an absolute waste of time to get to unless you are Karavan aligned.
this means that almost no one uses the higher level tryker merchants, which might explain why so many trykers shop in the forest..
Min Cho is almost as bad.

town TPs should be accessible to neutrals, even if not to opposed factions.
Also I think I heard that people with +ve Kami fame only have 3 respawns in Lakelands, which may be a fitting punishment for their foolishness, but probably counts as an inequity for those who get upset about that kind of thing

Good point...I hadn't thought of this in a while. How easy is it to get to areas where ya can buy 200+ items ? When I shop, I often visit MinCho, Dyron and do the short walk from Yrakis .... but getting to Avendale just isn't worth the trip.
