That's a very good idea. Maybe it needs work, but it's the rigth line for me.rushin wrote: 1) guilds owning op's get to set a 6hr period (in 24) when they cannot be attacked (ie sleep time). the attacking guild has the same grace period to choose for defense phase.

Now, that's an awesome idea. Simple, yet effective. ^_^

*note to graymage* In the ase of "kami lies" I simply never kept count, And never attended early US morning attacks, Because I live in the US and didn't feel ike/couldn't get up that early just or OP battles...
Not a tactic I aproved of, But they did it because Kara did it to us, Because we did it to them becase they did it to us ect...Its a never ending circle, And no matter who says anything, The other side will do it again... Its a shame, But thats how it is... Please don't brush my word off simply because I am Kami, If I am wrong I can admit it, And in the case of all those early morning attacks I was... Tho it was a guild who just lost there OP on a rampage.
*edit* HEY AMB!!!! how is my owner doing?

Re: Break Time!
As Long as people harbor hard feelings for one, or the desires to have what others have remains, OP's wars will continue on. Take away the human feelings of desire, jealousy and and hatred and we'll have no Op battles. Untill you do that, we will continue to follow part of our nature and lust for that which others have and we do not. As for what times the battles are, it only makes sense to attack on a time that's bad for your enemy. Is it smart to give you foe the edge? Multiple declarations, another tatic to hinder your foes, is it wrong to try to put the favor with you?
What I don't like is whinning back and forth, "you started it! No You started it!" Come on we're not not all 5 year olds
. You can handle arguements better then that, if you can't you need to quit playing games and take a few years to grow up
. I also don't like how this has spread to other parts of the game. Person A wont rez person B, because person B killed them in an Op battle 5 times. How silly. Person 1 ganks Person 2 because there a member of a guild in the opposeing faction even though they never have gone to a sinlge op battle also silly imo. I know it hold some rp value, but it falls apart when you don't rp
(and most of you don't). Also such actions alienate possible allies. I can never side with Kami for things I have had done to me just because I'm karavan.
IE: Mob stealing, ganking, rez refusal. (I'm Human I'll harbor Ill will against those that have wronged me, I know you didn't kill the real me, but killing my avatar when I was only trying dig, or stealing mobs that I'm tanking, takes away from my enjoyment, the whole reason I'm here, and is essentially an attack on my happiness
, especailly bad when I try to talk to them about it and they won't listen). I know there is some of it on both sides but it's silly.
Op battles will always go on, as long as there is a desire for what they have to offer. I'm sure if we took the time to get some heads of both sides together we could come to some reasonable OP battle guidelines, without haveing to change the game mechanics. I also see it as unreasonable to want to change the game for something the players can solve. Stop being lazy, if you don't like being attacked at certain times, discuss it with everyone involved don't go runing off to god like figures to solve problems you can handle
.
It is very true that most do not want constant OP battles, I'd like to have a week to play without getting interrupted. As these battles continue on it will just become a battle of who's ranks get tired first. I'm fine with the consequences of Op battles personally, you either adapt, leave or try to change it. I don't have the time nor desire to change whats going on, so I chose to adapt and accept whats going on (these things happen, I can either become a whinny 5 year old or I can just play
). If so many are against certain things like multiple attacks, and early morning declares, try to come to some agreement about, it instead of insulting back and forth, and makeing false accusations of one another. Adapt, Change it, or Leave.

Here's an interesting point.I know it hold some rp value, but it falls apart when you don't rp
There is no such thing as a Kamist player or a Karavaneer player.
Everyone who doesn't already explicitly understand what I mean should think long and hard about that before thinking, saying, or doing anything further about the outpost situation.

Re: Break Time!
Ok, for all of you who keep complaining about times that Kami's have to be up at 3-4am or that kara's have to fight at 11am workday. Here's a newsflash, this is an MMORPS, and an international one at that. It's not wether the kami's or Karavans, it's the kind of people that play it. If Kami have problems with being up at 4am, then recruit more people from North America so they could be up when you sleep! If you Karas have a problem skipping work to be at a fight, again, recruit more european players!
You reap what you sow after all. Split up the forces evenly and it won't matter when the OP wars are fought! And also I disagree with the break, why give Karavan more time with many more OPs to train more of their newbies to higher levels faster just so they could be even stronger for the next battle? That makes so little strategic sense!
ONWARD! TO VICTORY!

Re: Break Time!
To summarize
Imagine situation: I come to PR, see person I want to kill and then I send a tell to person “Hi, I am here to kill you, please equip your best gear, call all friends and choose time and place where we will fight”. LOL
Outposts are meant to provide something that is battled about, something that often switches owners, not something that is to be locked into a static grid. If they accept fluidity and are not hurt by not having outposts for a few weeks or a month and are actually strong enough to take them back later on, then they should simply take the break they desire. However they should not try to lock these outposts by guilt-tripping other players, as that would mean to detract from the game-experience of others because they choose inaction.
And never attended early US morning attacks, because I live in the US and didn't feel like/couldn't get up that early just or OP battles...

No one will wait for YOU(aiming not to Keiko but to all whiners who always unhappy no matter what) if you can’t attend, tired, want a break, on vacation, at work or sleeping. If YOU can’t keep OP and can’t handle tactic used by opposing force it’s YOUR problem. From my logsriveit wrote:GoJ's attack on Nexus was Saturday 02/Dec/2006 at 00:00 (Sunday 00:00 - 02:00) GMT
I know of only one such rash attack when DT declared on Nexus. What was the other?
Counting todays declarations, since May 1st, 2006 (when I started counting), there have been 59 Kamist(+Nexus) attacks against the KA, a couple of these were at nice Saturday times. In that time, the KA has attacked 16 times, some of these also at nice Saturday times.
I am not complaining. I like battles (although one can get too much of a good thing). I would just like people to keep the record straight. If you want to pick and choose to cast aspersions against people for using lousy tactics, I'm sure that we can cast plenty back as well.
By the way, thank you for your declaration against my guild. It was an awesome battle, very exciting and clean, on both phases.![]()

And sorry, I don't have any exact data left about the attackes between Friday April 14, 2006 and Tuesday April 18, 2006. The easter weekend where the Karavan Alliance and their allies attacked several Kami Outposts.
After this weekend I decided to no longer log the events in detail, and before this weekend I didn't log every event against Kami guilds outside the Lakelands.

do you want a challenging battle, or just a cheap kill of someone wearing focus gear ?
but behaviour intended to annoy players is forbidden by the CoC (IIRR).. so false declarations, and attacks that arent followed up after the 3rd round but still require the defenders to wait around the OP for another hour and a half, do nothing but breed ill-will within the community, leading on to retaliatory attacks and the entire degenerating spiral.
Good OP battles are a lot of fun, and they are usually the ones with a solid turn out on both sides. its the one sided battles which are a drag and a headache to participate in.
think of it this way.
We PvP with each other, not against
