Well I'm sad to see Jolt no longer supply the servers for Ryzom. However, when I logged on last night, there were still two familiar names when I did /who gm
It would have been nice to have had some prior warning, but what would be point have been saying that the servers *might* be moving if nothing had actually happened. It looks like (from Mithur's post) the server contract was signed on Saturday and things moved across on Monday.
I think that the two problems will be:
1) Lack of an events team. I will miss Tidings and his posts to the Saga forum.
2) The loss of the technical support team. Will we still have Soulsnatcher and co? Who do/did the various support people work for? I can never work out who was Nevrax and who was Jolt.
How many of the CSRs were volunteers and how many were paid? I'd always assumed that the 'normal' CSRs were volunteers, whilsts the GM/SGMs were Jolt employees. Is this the case?
Will Zerlin still come and rescue me when I'm stuck in Hidden Source, or will I have to teleport myself out, as there is no CSR online?
Will the ongoing events continue? Will the various characters developed still be available to the new team?

Mostly because of how good Jolt has been too us, Customer Service and with Events and also the way we've found out about it. We still wouldn't be happy that Jolt are being let go but finding out about it in an offical annoucement saying why and what it will be replaced with would have kept things alot calmer.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if they were planning an announcement for some time soon, but it got leaked by an (understandably) irked CSR and spun too fast for them to keep up.
This is all conjecture of course, but considering the actions of previous ex-CSRs it wouldn't surprise me one bit. Something that people seem to be missing is that Phelan has said that they would love for the current volunteers to stay on, but whether they do or not is up to them.

In reply to what you just posted phelan, let me just say I wish You find it in your heart to look less at statistics and more to the heart of the community here on Ryzom.
Not looking at statistics is suicidal. Sorry, but that is something that is the downfall of every company and every community.
I am not promising that the support will be as good as before. There will be problems at the beginning. However, we will do our best to make the impact as painless as possible.
Chat on Klients or IRC.. fix a date, I will be there.

*waits for the "Now!" reply*
Personally I'd much rather see a clear, thought out, in depth explanation of things. Then since its going to be GF all the way, some activity by you/ one of your collegues on klients would be very nice - there's always someone from Jolt in klients and I hope that will continue under the new management.

Well seeing as you arn't going to answer the questions I had to find out from elsewhere...
The hosting and support are seperate... So you could of still moved servers and just hired support services. You could of used a little of that 60% (yes, we've now noticed the edit) you would of saved on that small feature, no?

True sprite, I wouldn't be suprised if that is what happened. I'm taking a wait to see what happens approach. Even if the new Customer Service can't live up to Jolts Ryzom is still the best MMO I've played in the last few years but open early communication is a must for a good realtionship between GameForge and the Community and it's worth pointing that out even if a leak caused this.

I am all for a good communication. However, there will be times when some info will be confidential. I will always explain afterwards, and I am pretty sure that this will be exceptions.

stop getting yourselves into a mad state, jolt may have been dumped but you dont know what standard of GM'ing will come from GF, for all you lot know they might run sound events, regularly, with clear consistant instructions instead of the opposite atm.
The CSR team in terms of help has been outstanding and GF have alot to live up to that is without a doubt, but give them a chance at least.
Geez you ppl panic at the first change, ppl cancelling their accounts etc over it blah blah blah, stop being drama queens.

Well how come that wasn't the first reponce, kinda looks like your shying away from answering some questions and not others...
Will you be able to answer the ones asked at a later date or not?
If not I think you'll of lost our trust completely and will have a uphill struggle getting it back.
Edit: I was one of the first people saying things are going to change and we should give you a chance but your not being open with us.
