And do it now...
Ok... Lets ask Jolt to hire more CSRs that personally fly out to your house instead of dealing with the fire that occured at the office...

Better yet... let the staff at GF learn mental telepathy to send messages that are translated into english right when someone sneezes and hits the wrong button.

Get a life... Stop whining (trying to call your flame a debate) and celebrate the New Year.

Man, stop bickering on the fact he is critizing GF, bottomline is there was no communication. Even now no response from GF or w/e, at least, seen this post by now, only rumours over some fire what also has NOT been officially acknowledged. Go look at the newssection on the mainpage........

While I'm not a fan of how Kirzen has been acting in this thread a concern for better communication is fair. Too many of us have probably suffered through some MMOs where you might only hear of complete and drastic changes to the game two weeks in advance when it is go's onto the test server.

In this case an annoucement even if it was just 'We know the servers are down and we are sorry. We are working to get them back up as soon as possible but because of the nature of the problem it will take a while' on the forums would have been nice but I'm not looking to beat Gameforge up over it yet because of the work involved in getting Gameforge, the old Nevrex staff and Jolt all working together smoothly.

Actuely I'm critizing him for how he's talking to other players not Gameforge ;)

I may like to point out, for a portion of the time, its kinda hard to inform a player base of downtime when your methods are offline ;)

And during the fire, someone would probably hit the breaker switch :)

As far as I know, this fire is just a rumor. The bottom line is, yesterday all servers were down around 20 hours. The website and Klients went down the drain too. And we didnt have any official statements about all of this.

My char was missing at first when I logged in. Now its on again. I'm not sure it won't be missing in the evening again. Is the situation under control? Did they found the cause of the problem?

No official news, statement of any kind has been made. I find this at least strange.

Well the forum was back up a few hours before the servers :)

I admit, it was bad on their side not to inform anyone on anything.

But Ashling, it takes time to load up a game server. Especially a server farm lol I have no real facts here, but a usual shard reset takes an hour average. Thats just one shard. But there's 4 shards, login servers, save servers, etc etc etc. It just be a nightmare to start up a farm. You can't just hit a master power and let everything load at once. System's must have some systems up before hand.

Ohh I know it does, I've watched IT techs trying to get servers back up, it isn't pretty :p

I meant that an annoucement like 'We know the servers are down and we are sorry. We are working to get them back up as soon as possible but because of the nature of the problem it will take a while' on each of the general discussion forums at that stage would have been nice. Not as a critism for them not having the servers up with the forums.
