One of the best things Nevrax did was to create the environment that encouraged such a great community.
So I do find it a little ironic that in the "Farewell Nevrax" thread, we see the kind of "STFU n00b L2play" attitude that this community takes pride in not having, coming from one of our more established players.

Well, as they originally were, nevrax is no more, so thanks all, as said better above
.
And, glad that you've found a means to keep things rolling in spite of past financial difficulties, I know many of us are glad that Atys will continue to exist, and hopefully with more investment be improved, while maintaining the differences that make this game unique and better than most. If only now the market share can be increased a little to get the word out about this awesome product.

MANY of us OLDER player's BETA tested a game that had more/less than we have now. We PAID (Pre-Delivery costs included) for our box and were excited for the release (no matter which server we played on). If we are not tickled that thing's that are overdue are here, handle it. We have all seen many like you that talk alot in forums but are MINISCULE IG (some like you have popular websites as well, still non-factor's on their server). Some vanish off the radar before their forums fame matches IG exploits. When DD wonders where "the beef" is for non-flybynighter's... listen.
Those we call friends AND enemies IG have paid their dues by being here through thick and thin. We have gained friends/allies and lose some. When a noob questions the core of SoR (friend or enemy IG) you're gonna be challenged. You don't even know how much you don't know about SoR.
(DD is Melinoe and normally quiet as ALL Aristople non-noob's know... Been there, done that and played our game... I just get PO'd when the clueless post. I have more respect for enemies than folks that haven't lived what we lived here)
Ok, as an older (although not Beta tester) player, I think I have to say something. I downloaded the game in Dec2004 for the then two week free trial. Saw that I would have to pay a fee for the 'game' as well as the monthly fee if I subscribed and I thought fair enough.
I then happened to find the game in a shop, paid my £19.99 (I think), so at least I would have the CD / manuals for reading (although there were problems crediting the 'free' time that came with the box to my old account, so I started a new one). The cost of the game was only 2 1/2 months of playtime (with a month for free) and I've played the game FAR more than any other game that I've ever bought.
I see no reason at all why I should get that money back, I've got something to show for the cash and things have changed in the MMO game market in the meantime. Just look at the number of games with a free trial, followed by just paying a monthly fee, for someone to compete, they would have to do the same.
And back on Topic,
Farewell Nevrax, you have developed a fine place for Zok to play in and I salute you. I am glad that most of the devs will be staying on and here's to many more years of enjoyment on Atys.
PS I hope, soon, to have some big, new, kitins to introduce to my mace.

I have bought 4 boxes of the game, all in all. The first was my own of course, the three others I gave to friends of mine to lure them to Atys
Do I regret having paid for all four? No way!

I love how DT thinks he's better because he has played longer and plays on Aris.
I had to pay for the game too. I also had to pay full price for my PS2 when it came out, and the dropped in price dramatically. Now i'm waiting for PS3 price to drop. One can pay full price right away, or wait. Those who bought the box didn't wait.

My dad paid 26k for his car and now its worth about 18k probably
... The next week after he got it they came out with a deal for payments that were about 2/3 what he was paying
Also.. My comp cost 1800 bucks when I got it... now its worth about 100 prbably.
Life is never fair... DT I think you are over reacting a bit, Tho I understand you are defending a friend, I can respect that... But what she said really didn't make much since... In the real world way of things.
Sorry for another off topic...
Farewell to the Nev members that are gone... to the remaining... I hope there is some increased funds or something to help out development.
