Was there ever a time like this on Atys? Some bygone era perhaps? :D Nowadays the best bosses are hunted down within minutes of a server reboot and, I believe, all are gone within hours.

Unless you’re on at this time and are one of the lucky few, you get nothing.
From what I have read the new Kitin lair will have mission based rewards that will make things a lot more far. So regardless what the rewards are everyone should be able to get them. I'm not saying I want uber loot but I would like to see a nice selection of items as rewards.

Correct me if I'm wrong with whatever I say here, because..soo not doing the research.

The Kitin Lair contains kitin. We kill the kitins. The kitins generally dont carry big swords on them, etc...so, um, why would we get anything other than mats?

I'm thinking that the Rangers we hear about are giving out the missions, well, realistically, if they've been hiding out in PR, searching for the Kitin, they wouldn't have "Uber-Gear" on them to be giving out.

Common people, lets think logically about this

oh, Ding 500th post :P

lol, I was just about to say the same, and wondering why noone else had raised this point :) The day a kitin drops a crafted item that a homin could wield would probably be the day I unsubscribed - but I am sure it will never happen. I often wished I could dissect a kipesta and try to work out how to use their spraygun though.

On the other hand, I can imagine that kitins may well carry consumables around in their lair, like shifting larvae or food from one room to another.

I can also imagine that there may be lost, imperishable items lying around, left behind by the Karavan when they had to retreat before the kitin swarming. Batteries long since dead :)

Which would need a crafter to somehow regenerate!

Jamela and D29565 both nailed this one! Good example, that I can think of off the top of my head, is SWG after NGE! Say you go out hunting wild Bantha and Dewbacks. You get a kill where on tatoonie would a bantha put a piece of armor or clothing not to mention any sort of weapon? They do drop these things in game now! That to me makes as much sense as blowing up a SWG Imperial bunker and getting Hide or Eyes! It's just not logical!

Yes but living on a tree where there are no minerals but sand, blue people, the inability to swim down into water, magically teleporting from place to place through swirly things, little huggable things that perform magic all make perfectly logic sense...

And yes the rangers giving their best equipment to those who go where they can't does make logical sense.

It's not sand, it is woodchip, or sawdust, apparently :p *sighs*
The rangers have already gone where we cannot follow; there was an event in the dim and distant past to help them to reach an access point in the roots, as Tryton and followers went in search of materielle to aid their cause.

Think "consistency" over logic, perhaps? And try to leave your earthly presumptions behind (I constantly fail at this, myself :) )

Dry dirt is what makes up a lot of desert, not sand per se.
Broken down leaf litter, bark and other organic detritus, once dried out, makes sand of a sort.

I had this argument in another thread recently... and I can only repeat "Yes, it makes perfect sense to have blue people magically teleporting, magic and other stuff within the logic of Atys" whereas kitins dropping weapons or armour defies any logic unless... unless they were even more intelligent than what they have shown so far... Atys beware!
