UFC ATYS! (solo PvP event)

To be quite honest i dont think this is a good set up of rules if you want to be able to determine the best pvper.
The ABSOLUTE best pvper is the one that can beat his opponent without setting limits for what the person can use and not use. (as long as you dont cheat).

Its like in SWG when a master defender/master lightsaber (SUPER melee fighter) was fighting a guy named ZhouYu, which was a rather rare template.
He had some jedi, but he had novice doctor (which at that time had stims to heal) so he could heal without using force (as the rest of the jedi and the mdef/mlightsaber had to use). Giving Zhou the ability to outlive him easily.

Aiab (the mdef/mls) said NO RUNNING, no stim healing.
Which basicly meant stand and die. Zhou made his template so that he could move around, and heal better then any jedi.

Same thing here. If you are 250 ranged, you are so because of a reason.
If putting on fast running, changing to a ranged wep, and start firing from 50-60m meters THEN change back to a melee weapon and finishing them is what your template is made for. Then i say lets use it.
You cant say: You are the best pvper on the server, but your foes couldnt use their skilltypes, templates and fighting styles.

Same as me in swg, a group said, DO NOT CLOAK! its unfair!
The persons in the group ALL had better dots, higher dmg, higher defense and higher heals.
But i could cloak.

He said, do not cloak. Erh, NO!
I cloaked, uncloaked far away, made them split up. And took them out ONE BY ONE.
I got reported for exploiting, because they meant it was impossible to kill a full group alone. The CSR asked what exploit i used. They said that i was exploiting because it just couldnt be done taking out more people.
THe CSR checked, and he said i just used the skills IN MY TEMPLATE.

There are no such thing as you cant use that skill, you cant run, you gotta stand and fight and so on.
What if someone made their template so that they could outlive anyone?
Time limit? come on.

You can title the winner of the contest: Best fighter under specific fighting terms.

You can say that i am being stupid now. But this is honestly my opinion on it.
I feel that if you are to call someone THE BEST PVPER on the server. They gotta be allowed to use all their gear and all their skills.

Dont mistake me though, the contest seems like great fun. That i do not disagree with at all.

your swg examples are about limiting skills but indeed the rules of this event do limit the items. imagine you in swg make a tournament and someone is coming with 3k nightsister elder rifle with 1k mindfire dot, would that make him the best skilled pvper in your opinion?

Isnt pvp ALSO about preparation, he did work for that rifle, and he got it for a reason
And no, it maybe wouldnt make him the best pvper.
But i couldnt call myself the best without beating him with him using it can i?

But i had special temps in SWG, and if someone told me to stand still and do not move, i would loose, because i built my template around being able to go around them and run and heal and come back and go on and on. And i rarely lost.

You cant call yourself the best if you limit your opponents ability to use his skills and earned items. My, honest opinion.

btw there shouldn't be a best pvper or the game is very unbalanced. each class should have another class that can beat it and each class should be able to beat a certain other class. if this isn't the case every player doing pvp would play the same class and make the game pretty boring like in the swg times when every pvper was jedi and all the rest only spectators. ryzom is a bit different as you can train every class, so it is possible that you win in a 2handed, 1handed, ranged and ele duel but it shouldn't be so that ele wins allways over melee and ranged. coming back to the swg rifle with a 1k mindfire dot, it was that overpowered that you could win with it over every template and that's what does disturb me.

I think the difference between SWG and ryzom is that ryzom isnt class bassed. the ultimate PvP will be a 2H melee. with the best PvP jewls on and the best weapon. By enforcing the fact that you have to use the same class is a benifit.

The reason i have implimented the no honour point purchased items is becuase some people who may want to enter were not around when the system was in place.

The rules are really not consticting, you can use aura's in every class and magic enchants in a magic class battle. simple.

Nope, she also restricts movement.
haha yes. Range -unfortuantly will have to just stand there and shoot.

Trust me, they exist in all games. and i have my suspicions of who they are in this game, il see if i am correct in time.

I would also like to see you beat the tka/commando temp i had, i used stims to heal Though of course people existed that could beat me in the pre-cu and the CU.

-Oh dear, you couldnt beat any template at all. Try fighting pyro when he was running around with his pike template.
Or beating MiniNolans CM temp, he was throwing out 1k dots like crazy. He could kill most people fast as hell. His dots were deadly. But he got countered by others who was other profs.

My point is. Some people are so good that you will know it just by seeing what theyve done. But if you told mininolan, hey, dont use dots. UNFAIR.
Or telling pyro, DONT USE YOUR PIKES! UNFAIR! ITS A NO NO!

The point is, they all earned their gear, their skills and so on.
Telling a ranged to stand still and fight is in my honest opinion like telling a medic/doctor not to heal.
A nuker not to nuke.
A mindlord not to use affys.
A axeman not to use bleeds and so on. You get the point.
They built the template. Let them use it.

im not saying that theres no movemnt, but there is a limit on how much u can move, what would be the point if sum1 was to just stay 50 M away and conastanly run. it would ruin it completely when sum1 is physicaly untouchable.

the issue is that ranged is such na neiche thing at the moment that theres not enough perople for a ranged class (or enough time) so range has been put up against melee. and to allow a ranged person to run 50M away when thye cant be hit (fighting a melee) just isnt fair on the melee person.

If there was a ranged class. do u honeslty think both will be moving if they can both be hgit at 60M? no of course they wouldnt becuase moving wont affect the amount ui are hit from a ranged weapon, so they will stand still (allbeit 50M away)
