Oh, make no mistake, the patch certaintly did address the situation.
You cannot compare the fubar'ed harvesting situation of aeden with prime roots. For example, getting q150+ excellent mats isn't very difficult in the outskirts of witherings.
You can get 1 qualitylvl better mats in prime roots, but you have (now) also a more dangerous enviroment there and you (now) cannot mass-harvest them. Prime Roots are now actually quite balanced compared to the "normal" (ak non-Tryker) Mainlands.
The main problem were IMO not the prime roots as they were pe se, but that harvesters can get supreme mats at lvl 35. With that it was perfectly possible to get supreme mats at DAY ONE. Lvl to 35, get into roots, enjoy. If the "get better mats" abilities would have been more spread along the harvesting tree (10/30/100/175 instead of 0/10/20/35, for example) the whole mess wouldn't have happened in the first place.
