Hmmmmm, say you did ally with a karavan guild, and your karavan ally was attacking the OP of your Kami friend, on what side will your neutral/kami/karavan alliance then fight?

Re: Announcing a new alliance - Guardians
It may be a silly remark, but if anyone in an alliance would attack another ally, why would they have allied themselves in the first place?

So right, they wouldn't, edited my comment to remove word ally, but meant the OP of one of the "friend" guilds that Kostika referred to earlier. Thank you for pointing that out.
My point is, you cannot remain neutral with guilds from both factions in your alliance when conflict arises, which it inevitably will.
Perhaps a reminder of what neutral is:
neutral
Pronunciation: (nOO'trul, nyOO'-), [key]
adj.
1. not taking part or giving assistance in a dispute or war between others:
2. not aligned with or supporting any side or position in a controversy: The arbitrator was absolutely neutral.
3. of or belonging to a neutral state or party: neutral territory.
4. of no particular kind, characteristics, etc.; indefinite: a neutral personality that made no impression whatever.

What do you do if two of your friends are fighting each other and you are caught in the middle?davrick wrote:My point is, you cannot remain neutral with guilds from both factions in your alliance when conflict arises, which it inevitably will.
You have several options: stop them fighting; step back and let them have it out, or join in. (No doubt, there are more)
Only one of those options requires you to make a choice about whose side you are on.
You havn't shown a thing about needing to choose sides, and you havn't even bothered to explore any alternatives.

This is just a summary of the common meaning of the word neutral, something Nevrax put in to describe the people who neither follow Ma-Duk or Jena. So the words you describe here have only partially meaning to the neutrals on Atys, as the definition comes from Earth (english language as well). When looking up neutral in my old 2e AD&D books and in the d20 versions, neutral is described different from this.

IC:
You're missing something very crutial here. We're an alliance built on defence, not attacking. So its unlikely we would help them attack at all once we had thoroughly spoken with them on the matter.

And as Fry has said, neutral has many meanings. A dictionary one is not always one the is right. Also Nevrax's version of neutral is jsut someone who isn't kami or karavan at this point.
