It does seem a bit superficial and some of us square pegs don't fit round holes (fnar). All feels a bit forced.

How to we combat (bad term, sorry) this? Do we all have to make Trykers? 'Cause I'm not changing! :-D

I could just see it, hundreds of war refugees storming down on Fairhaven. The Lakelands INS in full swing. Barricades across the bridges to keep that Fyros riff-raff, those Zoraï goo-spreaders, those Matis-druggies out. Parties in the Assembly shouting at each loudly over the homin right to asylum, the cost of suddenly having to feed all those extra mouths, the extra housing needed for them, etc. The Letters-to-the-Editor complaining about the smell of strange foods, how the water feels different with all those non-Trykers swimming in it, how they don't know our culture etc. etc. etc.

Might make a good RP event though.
