Some of them are hardbacks... would probably hurt quite a bit.

Your point doesn't stand, its still exclusionary and your 'take it or leave it' stance doesn't cut any ice I'm afraid. It remains, in effect, non-consensual.

While I decide if I'm going to stick with Ryzom (probably will with fading hopes for R2 in spite of this, but that's the only thing holding me on) I am, to stay true to my character and to contribute to building something on Atys - something I've wanted to do for ages - I am _forced_ take take part in a gameplay style I ****ing hate, players with attitudes like yours I can't ****ing stand and the disintegration of what WAS the most mature and RP friendly MMORPG in existence into childish 'pwning' and penis measuring contests aided and abetted by Devs who I am now utterly convinced don't appreciate or understand what they had or what's been lost.

To all the people crying like babies I say shut the hell up I've had to put up with so many rubbish RP events I don't like RP you don't see me crying. You don't like PVP stay out of there.

To me this post is exactly why so many are against. Everyone wants to take part but the above is what they get. Great for all the AoD's pretty crap for everyone else so why have the dig element etc in there in the first place? I know you had a blast runing round nuking ppl and I saw you laid out as well, but I seriously doubt you were actually there to take part in the actual idea of the zone and your comment about returning tonight for more of the same seems to confirm this but its content that suits you and a lot of others.

The people "crying" as you say want to take part, they cant, thats the problem as I understand it and that is why they are frustrated with it all. Remember the days when you were a mere lvl 50 in ele, now imagine yourself in that zone with your 800hp and measly spells......

Maybe the devs tried to put too much into this to appeal to a wide range of players, maybe after a few days things will settle down and tactics will play a larger part. Last night was pretty chaotic and messy a lot of the time. Little things like a faction channel is certainly essential for this type of thing and there are many tweaks needed for the way honour is earned, eg carers don't receive anything.

I'm sure a lot will change over the coming weeks, mths etc. Don't leave because of last night, wait a little longer, you could always dig me some jewel mats while you wait, kt in loria etc should be great ;)

In that case, get your a** over to Guildwars, that should be the game for you then.

I survived Patch 1. :) I'm not so sure about Episode 2.

That's a very good recommendation - GW is an excellent PvP system. SoR isn't.

I've done a chunk of Ryzom PvP. The overwhelming factor in a battle's outcome is weight of numbers. I don't expect strategy to really improve past the stage of "let's delay charging out of the base until we have a couple more guys here". This tactic trumps the others, and homin nature being what it is...

[Aside: compare with "homin nature being what i thought it was"]

I had alot of fun healing homins for hours. It was sort of like Ragnorok in the sand. I saw fifty to hundred players having loads of fun with a new game mechanic constantly for hours. Everyone fighting seemed to be enjoying themselves. For those who hate PvP, I suggest that you calm down and let the devs get on to opening the next areas, hopefully they will have something to satisfy you. I don't see the point in making extremely negative posts which can only help kill off the game that you haved loved so much.

P.S. Mioette hit me many times too but I'm sure they were just love-taps. She is trying to get my attention. :D

I think you are utterly wrong there, cause this morning I found her cheating on you by tapping another woman.

And on a sidenote, I so much love catfud for illustrating my point that I am close to accusing him of being clever.

well i feel like sticking my oar in and why not :)

I have to say at first i was shocked and horrified at the PvP thing, there i was just a good happy go lucky digger trying to get some mats for my little cookie shop inside the temple and wham bam im coughing up sand.

At first i was like OMG they killed Nayr you..... (you all know the rest) and was really mad, since i kinda was a voice against PvP but something came over me call it bloodlust or whatever and i thought right time to fight back and you know what i enjoyed the entire battle whats still raging on, everyone has been friendly and having fun, hell iv even been having friendly chats with the guys that killed me as they sit next to my broken body.

I admit its not nice killing people that are your friends but you know what everyone took it in good spirit and were still friends after and a bit of friendly competition never hurt anyone.

I think the devs did a good job in making this PvP area tottaly seperate from the main parts of atys and is easily avoidable if you so wish to. And its not all PvP really, you can still dig or craft from it and not fire one offensive spell into the enemy, just hope the guys up front manage to hold the line and keep the kinchers at bay while you do so though, which in away makes digging all the more exciting as you watch the fiery battles continue hoping you will get that last mat in time :)

Even though i enjoyed this kind of PvP i really dont want to see it spil over into other areas of Atys such as PR or other places on atys and i would also like to see non PvP elements added too, a balance would be nice :) but well thats my thoughts anyway :)

Eeeeeeeew I realy hope not or il have to cancel my sub because im forced to RP if I want to get involved in the story....

There are RP events , PvE (Invasion) events and now atlast a "real" PvP event with objectives (gladiator type events dont count imo :p ) , things are abit chaotic atm but I expect it'll settle down given time for ppl to adjust , quitting after only 5 mins just shows youre not even prepared to give it a chance which is realy sad :(

Ive been killed "afew" times lol but ive not heard any "pwnd joo noob" taunts or other childish comments/behavior and ppl who act like that would be very easy to ignore , I heal and dig and will "pwn" the fighters by building my temple inspite of their best efforts to stop me :p
