Yep :D

I usually ask for dapper rather than mats though!

Why should forage areas have to be accessible by a single player.
Why should special materials easy to get.
Why should trips have to be that boring as they usually were.

For me people asking for higher heals are like the ones whos sitting in front of the TV all the day. Wanna get something and do nothing for it.

Don't you want a team wipe? Don't let the tank go down. Help the healer.

I think thats a bit off the mark. Obviously we want all of the above to happen, otherwise whats the point.. If it's not a challenge people will get bored.

Before patch:
Forage (in high lvl areas) wasn't posible on your own.
Getting special mats wasn't posible to get on your own.
Treking wasn't posible on your own.

You needed a small group to do any of these things etc..
Now, after patch, you need a small army..

I think the PvE before patch was well balanced. Now they've screwed it all up in trying to fix PvP. What happens to us must happen to mobs in some form of balance.

Actually they were, and pretty much still are.
There isn' t a single type (like wood, resin, sap, bark, seeds) of material in high lvl areas that isn' t easy to get to, easy to gather. (bar PR areas maybe, not started mapping those fully) It gets harder when you want a specific type of material though, granted.
When not being able to acquire guards I have been digging special materials all on my own, given a lot of patience, and I know I' m not alone in doing that. Again, granted, this doesn' t count for every specific type of material.
I' ve been doing these both prior and after patch now.

As for trekking on your own: Some months back a lvl 40 guildie of mine made the trek Min-Cho -> Yrkanis all on his own in 6 hours time. These days he has grown a lot stronger and dares to sneak from one point to another, going through the Prime Roots, all on his own. But again, granted, not all routes will be open to Solo-treking (Fairhaven- Min-Cho comes to mind as does Avendale- Yrkanis), but patience, good sneaking skills and knowledge about your surroundings helps a great deal. (that goes for all three points)

Well said.

One thing I thought of this morning is that only 115 Homins responded to this poll. If that is all the people on this server all this means nothing as we will be seeing Ryzom shut down yet another server very soon.

What I really think is happening is one of two things.

1. The vast majority of players just don't bother with polls
or
2. The vast majority of players don't even read the forums.

I personally think it is that most don't come to the forums for whatever reason.

I think to reach that vast majority we need to have an in game MOTD or MOTWeek to get everyone on all the servers, here to express their opinions on this latest patch. I fear that some have just thrown up their hands in disgust and went back to their Super Nintendo.

Go dig in GoC in the early hours when nobody's around to help you bash Zatchel/Vispa then. :p

Perhaps it is just coincidence, but I have encountered plenty in-game who are voting. They are simply doing so with their feet.

Okay, had a chance to try the new healing in action now.

It looks like, if you have a tank in heavy armor and with the appropriate jewelry taking the hits, the current healing is sufficient to keep him alive against pretty much everything (everything meaning every creature out there, not any number of any creature). And I do enjoy that sap and stamina don't take forever to heal anymore. I think most problems we had came mostly from people not being used to the new healings yet.

One problem that I think comes from the new healing is when you get more aggro than your tanks can hold. If just one creature goes for your mages, it'll take all of them down one by one, because to a lightly armored mage it does damage faster than the other mages can heal.

So I think the healing is fine, but we need more ways to keep the aggro off the mages. Fighters need to be able to taunt (and hold) more than one creature at once, and afflictions like root, sleep and fear need to be made more reliable, hit more often and link longer.

This was a problem even before the patch though. But now with the healing changes, things like Stun and other afflictions come alot more into play. They help the healers and the tanks. Last night I tested the use of stun with a team and the help I think was immense.

These changes are good, and brings alot more usefulness to the afflictions into play.

IMO, slow, a must in other games. Makes it much easier to keep the tank up. Not sure how well other afflicts might also be good as far as healing, not in Ryzom, we never really needed them :P

Ok i'll throw my two cents into the mix. I enjoyed being the group healer before the patch, it was fun and challenging. I had just recieved my dual heals and my max heals were around 2400 hps. I toyed with my gear and was able to throw about 12 before i myself would need hps or sap. Now after the patch i toyed with my spells until i found a system that works, leaving me casting heals spells two levels lower than my max and healing around 1000hps. Last night i got my first taste of this in a group. We had three healers and it was , to say the least , not fun. Eventually we found a system that worked but we still lost one or two people per pull on average. Like i said , for me, not fun.
Now sap and stamina were not a problem, in fact too much so. One cast of double and the offensive magic user or tank was full up and good for another five or so minutes. Way too easy in my opinion.
My suggestions would be to either raise the hp heals slightly, not to previous levels but maybe up from 50 % of previous heals to 65%. Either that or remove the double missle credit. As for stamina and sap those should come down some. All in all , I dont find healing fun anymore with this new change. But as in all previous games I shall work with it as best i can until something better is made live.
