Ok, ok, ok this gave me an idea. Words or slang with two meanings.
Like Austin said: "Oh behave !!"
Blame the translator of the university of munich. They say its the ornithologic expression for the thing birds have in their face. Not my problem you do to your language

Good for you! Had it in my hands several times but too low on funds after buying the Book of Vile Darkness and the Book of Exalted deeds. That also are still unused
Sooooo, if I buy it and you and Kos hop over for a weekend in the Netherlands I get it autographed?
Sure
Though its a comedy book and not much use in actual games.
I'll even run a game for some people if we ever do make it to the Netherlands, how's that?
Hmm... tabletop Ryzom, that might be fun

You are on. And I actually prefer classic 2e as much as standard d20 (3 main books) or CoC d20. Aina will likely join in, Sxar prolly as well

I am fine with harvesting, doesnt break the feeling of reality.
All others are more or less beyond silly. I would like to have choices.
Crafting is still ok, although in higher levels beyond reality
But hunt is the worst. Have you ever counted the Ocyx, Stinga, Timmies, whatelse you killed for XP ? To kill some thousand animals and kittin to go to lvl 150 breaks any reality for me. This is just a mass slaughtering...
Dont get me wrong, i dont want the game to be easier. I broke last weekend my personal highscore and made in a seven hours duo hunt 27 level in healing. So be sure i have the power to grind. But its silly. Id like to have the possibility to gain one or two or even more levels by one kill. I have no problem with it if such a hunt takes 30-120 minutes. As long as the feeling of reality doesnt get lost.
Maybe spezial hunt missions would be a solution. As soon as you pick one up somewhere a mob gets a check mark. Then it would up to me/the team to find the marked mob and hunt him down. The higher you select the mission the higher would the XP be.
hmm i think the exp on here is good, well ballanced even.
i have played some real grind fests in my time... while i was taking my break from ryzom i recently played a grind fest, the name i wont mention as i dont think advertising other games in the general forum is allowed.
but anyway your saying 1000 monsters from 1-150 ok.... this game i was just playing was .10% of exp per mob at lvl 100 thats 1000 mobs per LVL!
so id much rather kill 100 mobs per 150 lvls than 1000 per lvl. there was no max lvl on the other game either so 1000 per lvl at 100 how long you think thatd take you to get to 250? i could manage a lvl a day on there after 100 i can manage a lot more than that a day on here at over lvl 200
ryzom takes the grind out of grinding

It not about the grind. Its about the illusion, how one experiences the game.
Lets say you can make atm 3k XP in 1 minute by killing one mob. What if one could make 30k XP in 10 minutes by killing one mob.
You wont level faster, but the illusion/quality of a virtual reallity would be better.
I really dont want to imagine Psylo as a butcher, altough he allready is

lol now thats just stupid instead of 3k in 1 min you want 30k in 10 mins? so just go kill 10 mobs =/ for me it takes 3 shots for 3k exp so i think thats about 10 seconds =/ lol spell cast time is 3.4 secs so its just over 10 secs to kill a jugular

Just how every MMO or FPS game out there. I guess i smashed about 1 million skeletons in some underworld-hell-caves and dungeons over the years.
Or like the stupid WoW quest: Kill the captain of the ghostship three times. Why the hell should i kill one and the same ghost three times in a row ? Everyone her on the forum reads a book always three times in a row ?
But this is not good on a "Living planet" and i wished there would be an alternative way of leveling magic and melee. Maybe missions or a budo for melee. Just something that doesnt freeze my brain.

Link it to the encyclopaedia
Fyros Weapons
--------------
Prereqs - Slay this, slay that, slay the other, then come back and talk to the captain.
Captain says "Many of the wanderers in this land rely on their weapon skills to see them through the wilds. Go and train with them and return here..."
You then go and duel several NPCs out in the wilds and get a snippet of lore from each.
You return and he boosts your Axe skill XP by something big, like 100,000 and gives you a 'damage boost - axe' brick.
If you got the signature weapon skill rite from each land you could then do a special rite to do with the wandering warriors mentioned in the lore, gaining some kind of larger or more general bonus.

I won't get into the ticket bulk issue but hopefully it will be altered and we can get this:
Preferable, a telport ticket "book" that stores your tickets and when you open it you see all the tickets in some sort of map format, if not that then a separate tab in your inventory screen that is only for tickets, and if not that, at the very very least, a filter for sorting tickets out from everything else you have in your bag.

I think what he is trying to say is the rate of XP gain is fine. There should just be a way to level without slaugherting hundreds and thousands of animals for nothing but XP. What kind of roleplay is that when everyone kills hordes of wild animals for practice? It's not the leveling rate game mechanics that are a problem, it's the roleplaying. Everyone who has leveled melee and magic is a heartless cold cruel killer (unless someone has done ALL their leveling on kitin alone?) and that's not the kind of chracter a lot of people want to role play.
I agree with the suggestions on alternate ways to level.
