If you don't want to kill your fellow homin, then either you would need to be on the good side of the guild that owns the outpost or you would have to be very sneaky and not get caught.

...or you assist an allied/friendly guild to take over the outpost , not everyone in a guild is combat orientated (im not but that doesnt mean i have no part to play) , hopefully fame will be involved as well

im not completely sure but i think its not unconsentual.

i think you need to declare war on a guild and site before the actualy guild vs guild battle can begin, which gives both parties time to prepare.

After that time the combat event is started and the battle fought etc.

I dont see how a guild controlled outpost could be an unconsentual pvp risc to unsuspecting exploring foragers if you need to have this " declared war that has a timer before actual zone is pvp-able"

I'm been in this game since January, this is the ONLY feature that's being added. Not only does it catter to a smaller percentage of the population, but it gives them the power to interfere with my gaming experience. How would you feel if they decided to introduce a new feature...No PVP! As i've said before I have NO problem with consentual PVP. What you propose is exactly the opposite. Restricting access to those who don't want to spend as time as some lvling up fighting skills or don't adhere to your view of the world...

SHAME on you and SHAME on Nevrax if they let you.
First off I've been in this game since day one and outposts have always been about players fighting each other over them. Access to places will never be completly restricted. You just might have to go around instead of directly to a point. I think the most important thing to learn here is that there will be new structures popping up in Ryzom called outposts. Players will control them. No matter how you feel about pvp or the outposts you are going to have to learn to deal with them in some fashion. How is still up in the air. You can not expect to have an addition like this to the game and continue playing as if they don't exist.

A few sure things... If you want to use outposts you are going to have to deal with some form of pvp. If don't want to use them, you are going to have to deal with many of the ruins turning into guild owned plots.

This is correct you will have to declare war and have 24 hours to prepare. But if war is declared you have to protect your outpost. You can't ignore the declaration.

So everyone is focused on the conflict aspect of outposts. What about the opposite? Let's say Gecker the Tryker is a friendly fellow and has an outpost in Bounty Beaches on one of the main routes for treks through the region. It sounds like there's nothing stopping him from making an alliance with any guild that wants to pass through the area so they could take a break at Gecker's outpost.

Well, it is!

Very bad for player relationships and caters, generally, to the psycho-kiddy few while p*ssing off the larger group.

Structured PvP centred around events is one thing, random PvP is something else.

Look at the massive negative effect it has had on WoW.

Outposts aren't quite the same thing, however, if they give advantages to guilds holding them and provide guards who can defend and give safe zones to run into, then there's much more to them than just being an excuse to fight each other.

Besides which, why should people of the same land and faith fight anyway?

And you wonder why many folks don't want Non-consentual PVP...You could care less what I or anyone that disagrees with you wants. As, long as you've gotten your little PVP toy you're happy. It's this attitude careless disregard for others that scares people about PVP.

Oh and one other point...If there was a way around outposts everyone wouldn't run one to the next when traveling...

I care about the game and what is being put into it (sometimes too much I am afraid). If there are people that are completely against something that is going to be implemented in the game, then to be honest their opinion really doesn't hold much interest. Why? Because it is going to happen regardless. I'm much more interested in hearing how people plan to respond when they do arrive, than hearing people yelling for them not to arrive.

Then you have a bad attitude raynes! /scolding
The point of this debate is for people to air their views. And hopefully for the dev's to take note of them. It's an important line of communication between the players and creators of SoR. It's in everyones best interests if new features appeal to the majority of the player base, and in some cases that might mean tweaking the implementation appropriately. Everyones opinion is important, pls dont take this dissmissive attitude to your fellow homins.
