I simply dont get it... . If somboddu could explain it to me i will have by 21.00 1 packer full of q50 and q100 mats...

You don't turn in regular crafting mats. The only harvested mat that you can directly turn in is "Kitin Secretion" which is a special type of resource node that pops up in various spots in the invasion area.

What you can do with the mats is craft things for the crafting NPC. I'm not sure if it's the same in all lands but in Tryker land, the crafting NPC wants either 4 Heavy Vests, 7 Lances, 5 Pikes, or 8 Shields. When you talk to him, he asks if you're going to craft Q50, Q100, Q150, or Q200. If you choose Q50, for example, that just means that your items need to be Q50 or better.

The short summary of the event is:

-Harvesters and Fighters gather Kitin Secretion and turn them in at the harvester camp in batches of 30. These get turned into generic raw material for crafters to use.
-Crafter craft items for the crafter NPC using either their own harvested mats or generic raw material that they can get if people have turned in secretions.
-Crafters get a package upon turning in their items and take this package to the war camp.
-For every 5 packages turned in, a guard group is created and sent to one of the outpost buildings in the area.

Lets face it as I said to Tigane last night, good idea badly implemented.

The token system - tiresome and annoying.
The crafting system - unfair, 4 parok vests (cost 200k) gave 4 average tokens - 1 dead elite kitin gives 50 average tokens.
The Master of Resource - so far behind the nme lines u need a group of the best fighters to get there - who needs to go there crafters and armourers who are usually much lower in level.
The Master of War - right on the boundary easy for the fighters to get to, kitins so easy to kill they give no experience even to me, u then get a jump to Overlord that wiped the floor with groups who got to close to them.

No guidance from Devs - most people gave up, I did after getting 210k Dp getting to the MofR, only to find the camp over run with gibbets and tarbuks.

aylwyne wrote:If all you were doing was gathering claws and redeeming them for tokens, then you kinda missed the heart of the mission (just like me and everyone else at first) :) The claws and tokens are kind of an aside to the core of what we're supposed to do.

The more important mission is to gather the secretions (via harvesting and hunting) and deliver them to the material NPC. That NPC then turns them into generic raw material that the crafers can use to craft weapons and armor. For every 5 crafting missions done, a guard group is created to help when the kitin start advancing.
For your info Alwyne, I didn't find out anything about the exchange system until totally pissed off with the lack of challenge in the game.
I see you are doing the usual NA political 'peacekeeping' role by being antagonistic in someone else's back yard. I wish I could redirect my fart and blow you back across the ocean as you sound about as lightweight as some of the weekend mobs.
Don't you think you have a big enough forum on NA server or perhaps you're not their favourite person either. How do you think your co-gamers would feel if we started butting into to your forums discussion, telling your people they are idiots, and they don't have the brains to work out mission objectives.
I reckon they'd send a peacekeeping force, don't you?

Nah, I post here sometimes 'cause in the NA forums, people tend to take things too personally....

Wow, I have to say Alyssah, I think that post was totally unprovoked and uncalled for :( I haven't read everything Aylwyne has posted on the NA forums about this topic, but I see nothing antagonistic or provocative in the post you quoted. Also the smiley indicates, at least to me, that Aylwyne is being self-depreciative with that comment, indicating he initially missed the point too. I'm getting the feeling that frustration with the game fuelled your post a little :)

I'm quite happy to admit that I totally missed the point with this event at the start, as I think a lot of other people did. I'm also quite happy to have NA players posting on our forums, as I too post a few replies over on the NA forums myself. We're one big family eh, even if we're seperated by a rather large pond? :P

Yes, it was intended as a self-deprecating remark. Like most others, I spent the first night of the invasion running around wondering how in the heck I was going to get enough tokens in time.

I hope you and I are not in the minority in wanting to be able to come together as one community, regardless of server boundaries. Personally, I was a bit disappointed in the divison of servers along geographic lines. I really enjoyed interacting with folks from all over the world in my last game.

I actually am happy alywyne is providing hints here. At least someone is.

That said, the fact remains that the EE guides, GMs, and board moderators have been essentially absent from this event in this regard. Not good, especially in comparison to other servers. It continues a trend. And goes directly back to point 1.

I'm quite happy for members from any community to give helpful advice. However, Al's assertion was that I redeeming claws. I hadn't the foggiest idea about redemption and was just defending. I notice that Al has not referred to his erroneous conclusion in his response. Really makes me wonder if adding a smiley takes the sting out of criticism.
My main complaint was twofold.
1) Having implemented a new chapter in Atys gameplay the devs just disappeared and left us all to try to make the best of a poor setup.
2) The gameplay is exceptionally poor with pedantic exchange options & buggy actions. The mobs themselves were of differing levels and you had to travel around to find mobs that were a challenge. I was killing in one hit with cold 7.(KoD)
If the devs had really wanted to make an interesting game of it here are a few positive suggestions:
There are no mob TPs I have seen. About time there was so as we could mount a proper offensive, force them back, ambush them on arrival or even destroy the TPs. This would work better than forcing them out of the forts only to have them spawn on top of you. We might even be able to disrupt the supply lines giving our harvesters/crafters the time & space to carry out their missions. I am beginning to wonder if the devs get commission on dp.
For around a day, people were running around like headless chickens trying to work out the rules. Why didn't the devs post the rules or have them properly explained on a need to know basis? What's more, I didn't expect to spend more time exchanging mats, tokens & more tokens than I did in fighting/ harvesting/crafting. This was only a futile effort to distract us from the fact that the promised additions are way behind svchedule. Kitin attacks were in the Betas. You think they put something new in??????

Ps. Since we are not allowed to exchange the kitin mats, the devs are only encouraging self interest. We should be able to have less proficient members (or volunteers) able to take the mats back, exchange them in bulk & supply our crafters with the needed produce. After all we were supposed to unite in defense.
Alyssah.
Pps. The beta was much more fun. Maybe they should be paying us for our ideas?
