Personally, I think returning the fame fluxuation of pricing for npc purchased gear/mats(mostly mats). And the higher sale value with high fame, that way, even if a player doesn't buy it, you still can get a better price for it.

And there is always the ever popular: Actually spend more time hunting in Zorai lands. Heck prior to patch I was hunting up in the haven duoing with someone, right outside of Zora.

Funny thing was...

She was Fyros, and I'm a Tryker.

Being flexible and willing to level those lower skills so you can group with the new players would be a good way to recruit, and welcome them into the new world. Nothing wrong with having some spare sp laying around anyways :D

Well to find out the answer we need to ask why the Zorai aren't popular in the first place. And from what I have read it's bacause many people don't like the lack of ability to customize the Zorai face like you can other races. (Or rather that the changes you can make don't really show as well as others). Solution? Let players not only paint thier own masks, but also let them pick a color for them.

Another thing that this game really needs is for there to be definate advantages to playing one race over another. The Zorai are suppose to be experts in magic and magnitism. Well exclusive weapons and spells would also help get people to play the zorai.

I hope this isn't true. Me and a friend just started the game and we're both Zori, and I have 3 more friends that are going to start and make Zori as well.

Feel free to drop me a tell when you hit the mainland, I'll gladly come welcome you, as I am sure others will as well. I may not be a Zorai, but I'm generally good company...I think...

Svayvti,
We have never met or spoken but I have been interested in The Pilgrims from the day I first visited these forums. My intention has always been to RP in a Zorai guild. Because I am a very casual gamer I have only just made it to the mainland. I had intended on applying to you for membership ... but the tone of your recent postings has given me pause. Will the Pilgrims dwell on the past or look to the future? I hope for the latter. A captain with one leg in the lifeboat will have difficulty recruiting new crew members.

A few months from now, when Ryzom is maturing as a game, nobody will care about Patch 1 or what came before it. That will be ancient history. We will be too busy living the saga, exploring the mysteries of Atys, fighting the Kitin, and claiming outposts for the glory of the Kami.

I am not bothered by the relatively low population of Zorai. I like the idea of being a reclusive mystic-of-the-jungle. When the next Zorai army marches to a distant land to aid another race I want the locals to exclaim "Look! Zorai! I thought they were but a legend!"

Ryzom is still in its infancy. The real game wont begin until after Patch 2 (and the subsequent tweaks which that patch is sure to require). Now is the time to lay the foundations for the future of our guilds. Let's build those foundations with ambition, confidence, and a positive outlook.

Feel free to contact me also. I'm in game about every night with a little hunting group. Zorai right now might be low population wise. But the ones that are there are dedicated. The other advantage to starting is you will be in on the foundations he players make for the Zorai for the rest of the game.

I guess I will answer this.

Rightnow .. we are in a sad state like most of the other guilds in the game. The last few times I logged in I was the only person in the guild on at the time. This was a few days ago. Most of our members are off in other games and may return if Ryzom can fix it's problems and the game is fun again.

The problem is no longer directly about patch 1 or even the game's code. It is about the emptyness in the game. I would still be playing if there was other people to interact with however the last few times I was on, the game was a ghosttown. No point in playing a MMOG without people in it. Ryzom needs to get it's players back in the game and get the new people to stay .. if they can do that, then I think most of my guildmates will be happy.

Here's a suggestion then ;)

How about you and all your guildies who are off playing other games, plan on a specific time to come back and do stuff together. A hunt, a trek, a newb event, anything. You'll find that the game is still fun because you'll be all playing with your friends.

Sometimes ya just have to plan something instead of waiting for it to happen. Not logging in because your friends aren't logging in because you aren't logging in is a bad case of circular logic. Gotta break the cycle!

I just want to make it clear that not all her guildies are off playing other games. I know that there are 2 of us that are there every night. Three more that are there almost every night. I am available for group stuff 98% of the time.
