That site is just as secure (or insecure if you will) as these forums. If you feel comfortable logging in here, you should be comfortable logging in there.

EDIT: I just realized that you can change the forum pw to be different from your account pw, so you are correct. Having that site use https would be better.

The Sunday event would be at 2pm, Central Time USA right? GMT -6 is how I figured it.

Sounds about right. In other words, the Sunday event starts in under four hours from now.

There is another point, while the forum creates an md5 hash before sending the credentials to the server, the new 'api' site sends the credentials in plain text.

My opinion on the event:
The entire day, yesterday, was different from what we're used to ig, mini mek races were awesome, the "around atys in 80 ports" aka trick or true was mildly entertaining and protecting the ghost town from death yubo invasion was just... :D

To all those who complained, oh well, it was a single day which you could have used to explore the places you havent seen before, i found quite a few places in PR which i just want to run to now with KP at my back XD

On a side note, i'm really looking forward to the event tonight and keep up the good work events team :)
and on another side note, if you've got any good screenies of the event, feel free to post them on the wiki page

My opinion on the pvp event: Nice idea, but game mechanic wise a total chaotic mess :p

Since friends and foes all showed up in red due to the free pvp zone, it was really really hard to tell who is who. Of course there was the different colored armor, but in mid battle it was really hard to see esp from far away. On top of it we had roughly 200 NPCs some with and some against us.

My suggestion here, introduce an imaginary faction and create a faction pvp zone for it. Similar back then with the temple events we had Kami vs Karavan factional PvP zones.

Now imagine Tyrant Jinovitch's Army would be a fictional faction RED and Forces defending the Lakes a fictional faction BLUE. In the zone simply make it like outpost battles, the players chose their side upon entering. That's it.

Nonetheless, it was the first event of its kind and I'm looking forward to more! Thank you event and CSR team!

From me, the PvP event was a glaring example of how Ryzom isnt suited for PvP
Admittedly by the time it started it was almost 5 am in my timezone, and my charity was wearing very thin, but even without that the event had some serious problems.

Firstly.. Free PvP zone. This would work for a single team versus every other single team present (unfortunately for Jinovitchs side, we managed to field a team and a half).. for supposed mass army it just caused chaos, confusion, and annoyance. Yrkanis's side probably did more damage to each other than we did.

Secondly.. the 'uniforms'. I am guesssing this was intended as a work-around for the free PvP -everyone-is-your-enemy- targeting confusion, but with graphics dropping due to so many entites visible it didnt work much. Also my question about light armour from before the event, in this thread, was not answered by anyone, until we were waiting at the muster points, and didnt have any healers ready. THEN we were told we could use LA, if it matched the format of the designated HA for the side. Ooops, not what I was carrying.. - So people just wore whatever they had, because we DID need healers and nukers, because of...

Thirdly.. the event was held in the middle of aggressive kitin swarms, simply to further mess up any targetting we managed to do. and since we were nuking the kipuckas and kirostas, and rezzing the people in our team (but not anyone else on the same side as us because it was Free PvP and our allies are still our enemies as far as the software is concerned).. well, lets just nuke the opposing players as well. This totally defeated my original understanding of the event, of a massive melee engagement between the historic armies.

Fourthly.. Just what the (pick an obscenity) were we trying to do, anyway ??
We all follow Jinovitch to where the goody-two-shoes forces were, then barrel into them like a drunken mob (or small handful) of football hooligans, But with no idea of what the "victory conditions" for the event where it was impossible to have a strategy, and winning would devolve to lasting out til everyone else gave up in disgust.

I have a couple of suggestions for improvements

The Event Team need to have special PvP faction tags that they can give to people for these events. If tags exist for Kami/Kara, and outposts, then they can come up with another set for events.
More effort needs to go into the organisation before the event. Rules for armour, Victory conditions, whatever.. needs to be provided to the players in enough time for them to act on it - for battle rules/victory conditions, that could have been while we were waiting around for the event to start, but the armour needed more preparation time.
And holding the fight in the middle of Kirostas etc.. Really Bad Idea.
My lore is pretty rusty, I cant remember if the great swarming was before/during/or after Jinovitch vs Yrkanis, but if it was after or during, then we should not have had Kitin to deal with in our fight - the Event team could drop them on us at the end for a giggle.

As it was, it's another reason not to spend time on Atys :(

It should be noted here that saturday Atys was mobless, the events team probably wanted it to be mobless for this event too but so many ppl complained...

as for the rest of your points, very true. It was one massive confusion for the most part xD
