iphdrunk wrote: Your statement is logical and reasonable. However, from a player point of view, new content on "release" and other additions are "the real indicator" (way more than words) of what's going on behind the scenes. In other words, they reflect what devs have been doing during these months, whether they have dedicated resources or not, and whether there has been an notable investment other than just buying the assets and keeping the game "heartbeeting". An update would allow players to "buy the dream again".
Shortly put, I am more willing to "invest" in the game if the game operators also invest in it, shown e.g. by a patch that has been developed out of investment funds.
True, but if we want this game to survive and prosper then we need to give them another chance.

I suspect that the er "dev team" is/was a bunch of volunteers working on a shoestring to keep the game going. If that is true then they have done well. It would have been nice if the owners had been more open with us but they have their reasons I guess.

Lets see what the future brings :D

Just a Question ~ Yumeroh/Winch Gate!

Will any inactive toons be wiped/removed from the Servers after the subscriptions start from the 4th May?

I've never seen a MMO company do that, apart from the time FFXI did it, if you went inactive there, for a few months, which made me never go back.

I see they have recently recanted on this as I got an email saying that all "deleted" characters would be restored if the players returned, to which I gave them a resounding.... thanks but no thanks.

As regards Ryzom, after all the toons have been through and still survived, nothing short of a nuclear device having a direct hit on the servers would shift them IMO :)

This is good news to hear and I'm liking the new sigs, I think they are a nice touch. I'm not playing Ryzom but my current MMO is free and I would like to see Ryzom grow so may well sub my accounts anyway and see what comes along on the up and coming months.

I've stopped playing long ago, but keep lurking around from time to time to check on the progress the game makes.

Congratulations to the owner for finally getting subscriptions back up. I hope it's not too late, and many will come back and subscribe.

I'm not going to sub, but that is not because I'm demanding any specific changes or improvements to the game, it is due to some changes in my life and generally not being interested in playing online games anymore.

To all of you who are impatient of waiting for the game make actual progress, I'd like to say: I can understand why you want to see some investments and some sign of the game actually making progress.

On the other hand, you might have been worried that the game has been in an uncertain state with an uncertain future for many months, with the probability of it vanishing forever likely to strike you each day.

Now that billing is back, I would see my subscription as a chance to do my share of making sure the future of the game is a bit more certain again.

Cheers to all good Homins, and long live Atys! :-)

Some of you lot amuse me. The nature of MMO players is such that when there's a content patch, they cry for bug fixes. When there's a bug fix patch, they cry for content. Imagine the many misfortunate alternatives to Ryzom's current status and count your blessings.

Yep, and they were great. But not 8 months worth...
