hmmm? double the damage .. oh goody!! so as a mage instead of a kipee hitting me for 120 + while i cast it will now do 240 + , so mages corpses will litter the atys countryside as we only have a small amount of health and no armour... nice touch!

As a mage, you dont plan on getting hit at all ;)

Some point of interest for mage staff/glove crafters:

q50 NPC mats cast me with 60 personal fame on the ATS 3600!!! Standartprice for mats from players is half that, but I strongly doubt that there will be somewhere near enough of them to supply the glove crafters at the beginning.

Currently you loose around 5-7k dappers per q50 staff crafted, on the ATS you loose around 50-60k! Which means the dappers you need to lvl close combat crafting from lvl 51 to 90 will be around 8-10 times as high as it is currently to lvl a crafting skill to lvl 51 to 90. Which should be around 3-4 million here. About 30-40 Millions on the ATS.

So, if you plan to lvl close combat BUY MATS NOW, as many as you can.

Edit:

As reference: I needed to lvl light armor from 75 to 90 around 2.5 mil with q50 mat costs of around 820 and a loss of 40% of the invested money per crafting. Lets assume 51-75 is 1.5 mil, which would make it 4 million total. With a 100% instead a 40% loss rate (since you only buy the mats now, but do not craft & resell) that are about 10 millions one has to invest in q50 mats now to have enough to lvl close combat crafting postpatch to lvl 90 from 51.

Another thing: currently crafting mage gloves (or anything else for that matter) gives no exp in close combat crafting. I hope Nevrax will have fixed that when they finally give us patch 1.

And there is of cource no guarantee that those matprices will be the same as on the ATS with patch 1, so getting the mats is somewhat of a risk.

Eeek. But a follow-up question you may not know the answer to... with packer storage space being reduced to just 500 bulk, how will that affect packers with over that right now? Will you lose the extra? Will they just be encumbered until you remove the excess?

Thanks,
Tin.

I have no idea. I sincerly hope the latter will be the case, since it's more the rule than the exeption that people have their packers filled completely.

Meaning: if the surplus items will just disappear Nevrax will have a lot lot lot of very very angry soon-to-be-not-suscribers.

Im just reading alot of you complaining about overpowered mage, and IMO i think your all complaining cos your propbably melee fighteres and dont want it to be equal. As I am both melee and offensive mage and while fighting mobs any mobs even lats take HARD KIPEE as an example - i can kill it extremely easily with my melee and i am about 15lv higher in off mage and its not nearly as easy. And whats this about us gettin more dmg y shouldnt we if while casting we take 2-3 times as much dmg as you melee take? (I took from HARD KIPEE like 100-150dmg all the time while casting and 20-60 while melee) just cos we are magicians dont mean that we shouldnt get to solo hunt. Personally i think its a good change and they have taken all aspects into much consideration before making the changes - its not 2yr olds who are developing the game u know!

Nice reference, despite that I used about only 1.3 mil to get my medium craft from 75 to 90. Global fame 100, sold the grinded products to a supplier who wanted them, and this last bit I think is the one that makes difference here. So, just so you know, you people who are about to grind (and especially now due to the price increases).

Just a "fyi", I'll go back now..

True enough. But then you have a lower lossrate, I included the 40% for a reason :p ;)

Anyway, luckily they didn't introduced those 3.6k prices per mat. They are somewhat more expansive, but not drastically. around 870 for a q50 npc mat.

If you planned to lvl close combat you'll be disappointed, since you STILL cannot lvl that tree.
