Ryzom

I met some cool friends who I play other games with and keep in regular contact.

I learned that I am obsessive compulsive. That we can achieve anything aslong as we work hard for it.

I learned that too open ended game mechanics and too much choice in some circumstances do not a good mmo make!

I learned It has been 5 years this month since i first started with this game.

Well iam glad that Ryzom has made you a better person. it has also helped me understand how people think and act under different situations,and in saying that i guess,has helped me in RL at times.ill always think of Ryzom as the top of MMos .One thing is for sure ,ya wont get a better community.SO to all the people that have loved and hated me........thanks for the good times........ love yas all ......

As it appears, I have lots of company, Ryzom was my first MMO.. Played lots of other stuff for PC, but never on-line.

I met lots of wonderful people on Atys, some of whom I still keep in contact with in RL. I can honestly say the majority of people I met in Ryzom are kind, generous and helpful.

During the "down time", I played a few other MMO's and they always seemed to lack something.. Namely a community like ours. Also, for a game developed in the early 2000's, the graphics were stunning, even compared to games released as late as 2008. Atys was and remains a place to go when times are a bit trying, and relax among friends.

ALSO.... It did disrupt my life a bit, since I played so often and grudgingly got involved in the politics. OP battles scheduled at 9:00 am GMT meant I had to set my alarm at 3:00 am here and lose some sleep (oh well). I have always been a bit of a loner, having a handful (if that) of people I stayed in contact with in my life. Ryzom has opened a door into a new realm of friendship, never having met some of my friends in RL, I still call them my friends and enjoy chatting IG or on YIM. All this chat has also helped my typing skills, which were almost non-existant.

Ryzom has been a wonderful addition to my experiences and hopefully will remain so for the forseeable future. Thank you all for the friendship, generosity and support, both in game and out (the latter knows who they are ).

lol, come back home! So much of your post rings true with me, and you know what I mean. Atys is my shelter, it's a place I matter, it has become my home. There are MANY people I met here that don't come around much or at all anymore, and I miss them dearly. But I could never ever find peace anywhere else. So many friends, so many good times, so many fatal treks to Loria tp, etc...who could ask for more? My rl personality has blossomed thanks to the times I've spent here.

Saw Gore Vidal interviewed a week or so ago where he quoted one southern US politician who said on the subject of potential religious conflicts when he married "out oif faith". The quote well surmises my thoughts on faction issues:

"One week we don't go to her church and the next week we don't go to mine."
