translates as: "Gameforge takes over 'The Saga of Ryzom' and tries to stop popular MMOG from being closed down."

So what you did is actually invert the statement
Web translators may help understand foreign language documents, but they are not to be trusted

Thanks for correct translation ..... again.

Well I have made it clear i only speak/read English, and for me personally... not a case of not trusting web translators... i dont trust one of the biggest Companies in the world.....

How can Google promote a product that can be so terrible wrong????

I must agree, as a native german I can only say that these machines do tend to make things very, very difficult to say the least.
Khyles translation is indeed correct. ;)

And translation by software is extremely difficult, because some words in every language do have different meanings from context alone. See, "wave" and "to wave", our most popular misstranslation over here ;)

They´ve translated the gesture (wave) with the german word for the wave (on the ocean) :D
Regarding the "mexican wave", it may be true, but only if you play english... *cough, cough*

Why don´t you guys just ask? I´ll gladly translate :) (if it´s not too much text)

END SNIP

Well... i think its just me actually ;)

Since is all too hard to get offical responses from Gameforge, i felt the only way for myself was to search out information myself.

Reading forums and other websites realting to all the games to see what other GF customers are experiencing... and also reading the GF site directly looking for any indication GF is actively and proudly supporting Ryzom...

Shall go quite again now....

language translation in general is somewhat flakey.

people who know 2 languages still have trouble translating things.

I disagree. If you know two or more langagues well then you know how to by-pass direct translation and put it into the context that is meant. If you dont know how to do that and interpret it the correct way then obviously you dont have a good command of the language.

*edited as I put "not" hehe* Using a direct translator like google - thats a different matter. They can take things into litteral context which means it is not being translated at all into its true significance.

This is as good as it will get for Ryzom. Atleast this game is sandbox and doesnt require constant updates to keep interest.

I too would love to know what's planned, but thus far it does not seem very much. The MMO market is changing, players expectations change. In an already saturated market players expect content updates as given. Yet rites are not even done which is just shocking.

There's only so long a company can hide behind "sandbox" these days if they want growth. With more highly anticipated MMOs to hit next year, thinning player bases even more GF need to get their finger out. If not I give Ryzom two years at most. :(
