1) to introduce and explain the community outpost project
2) to allow people to sign up to be on the roster for handouts
3) to allow donors to publically express willingness to donate

I see alot of posting, much of it not on topic and much of it unfriendly and not in the original spirit of this project. Without commenting on those newer, off topic posts, I'd just like to request a new thread be made and stickied and that this one be allowed to drift into oblivion.

Please consider this as a request from one of the members of the Arispotle community, to the manager of the community outpost, the moderators, and the community at large.

Thank you
very true, I apologize for feeding into the bad seeds of the KA in defense of a dear freind, there was no need to smear her name, and there was no need for the responses to that in this thread..the reality is the community OP program lives on stronger than ever and i cannot express my happyness enough for the people who donate thier time and the people who benefit from their efforts, its a great program that needs commended

This is just way too weird. I can't belive there is an argument over this:

1. Brave has her own guild. They RP and play the game as everyone else.

2. Brave has volunteered to run the Comm OP thing on her own time.

The two are unrelated.

I spent some time with Brave just last weekend, and the feeling I walked away with is that Brave wanted to enjoy the game for a while as everyone else gets to play it. There's not enough time in a functioning person's life (by that I mean spouse, parent, employee, etc etc.) to do everything. Chasing for, winning and managing an OP takes time, especially when you crafting for half of Atys....and at most of the time at no charge I might add.

Why can't a person who has selflessly served the community for a year and more say "I wanna play a little bit for me for a while". Why can't a person say "I can't maange all this, I gotta give something up" ? The OP was being given away regardless and I am sure that had anyone complaining now been the one who won the lottery, they wouldn't be complaining.

Just handing out what we give to the Comm OP takes a significant portion of my time. I can't imagine the T & E needed to run the Comm OP and do handouts to 25 guilds. I don't see anyyone stepping forward and saying "I'll do it". I see many have suggested that a nuetral guild should have taken it over. No thanks, not me.

We give about 30-40 % of our guilds output to the comm OP. We give several other OP less guilds and Silan refugees bringing our giveaways to the 60-70% mark. It does take a lot of our time but it helps the community so we are glad to do it. Now that Brave has her own OP, I am sure that they will donate as much as we do. And now the rest of the community will have access to an erigos pick now and then for at least a while.

There are two types of people who will do something for somebody:

1. Those that expect something in return
2. Those that don't.

The problem with those in the first category is that they can't wrap their minds around the fact that category 2 exists. I have teamed with Brave many times, most times in mixed faction teams. I don't use cats except for crafting (well and that 240-250 run) and I see in teaming that she ain't either as we dinging at the same rate. I don't see Brave running around with 4 magic titles and half a dozen melee titles. She obviously isn't using the cats for herself. Where's da beef ?

"LOOK AROUND PEOPLE, YOU ARE DESTROYING YOUR COMMUNITY WITH THIS PETTINESS."

Has anyone dug a SN lately ? Over the last three days I just dug out one alone .... a guildie dug out another..... neither of us saw a peep anywhere near them since the season change. Where is everybody ? Where'd they go ? Three days after season change and there's still sups ? Who wuda thot ?

The one thing that was apart from all the bickering was the Comm OP and now that's even been turned into something to argue about. If it was me, I woulda said "to heck with it all, who needs aggravation for donating their time to the community ?"

If ya worried about how much OP resources you gonna have start thinking about how many ya gonna have when GF pulls the plug on the game. The community is the biggest thing the game has going for it and it's people like Brave who MAKE that community worth being part of.

I team a lot when digging in PR with karas as well as kami (very often with Brave in team), have more pre FBT friends on kara side than kami and more "post retail" friends on kami side than kara. What I am getting though from HO's on both sides is that peeps are sick of the bickering and ready to "take a long vacation" from Ryzom. Again, not gonna be much to argue over when the plug gets pulled cause too many peeps left over the bickering.

The Comm OP is one of the shining examples of what the Ryzom Community used to be....what it can be. After managing the Comm OP for a year , giving up all that time for the benefit of others, geez, leave the girl alone. Let her have a chance to have the same fun you have neen enjoying. There are people who still play the game for fun, there are people who play the game just for the chance to come in and chat with their friends. If you are logging to make sure you are getting your share of OP mats and the opportunity to demonstate your prowess during OP battles, then perhaps it's not Brave's motives you should be examining.
