Wormy must have gone to Neverland, and, as all good MMOs, Neverland needs good GMs as well, so Dever must have followed to help the little beings in that world as well...
Deep loss for us all... but we'll not forget.

She's here with me now, unable to access these forums any longer, so I'll pass her words on to all of you.
I am having a hard time finding words on this loss. I will miss Dev/Doug so much. I have known him back over 4 years, starting with the beta in URU. He was always so fun, I can remember him doing skits with a friend of his. Then when we moved over to Ryzom, I kind of lost contact. But after a year I was invited to join the CSR team. And once again found Dever.
He helped me so many times, he was one of the most patient, understanding and caring guys. I will always remember his arrrrrrrr and his wednesday nights martini nights. I can't tell you how much I will miss him. I expect you Dev to have a rum all poured for me when we next see each other.

It happend only a few times, that he was at the receiving end of my bug tickets . Dever will be missed dearly. My thoughts stay with his family and friends.

It's been two days now, I still don't know what to say...

Like many before me, we met in beta, actually on the Jolt WoR forums pre-open beta, long time NE guildmates. Soon after release he took over as guild leader for TNE and the WoR forums for Daishan. To me, he was Ryzom, he loved this game, loved the community, he knew it all and did it well. A quote from him not too long ago from TNE forum:

So to make a long story even longer, I had a choice of working for the guild or working for everyone in the game.

Someone once said, “the good of the many, outweighs the good of the few”.

My first encounter with Dever and Wormy (on the same day) in game was a little confusing, but I had a feeling...not long after that he sent me a PM inviting me to join the CSR team. I was really excited and we had so many laughs during training. With my computer illiteracy and his patience and sense of humor, mixed with our drinky-poos, made for a few long, hilarious evenings. He told me that he was once a radio dj/announcer, this did not surprise me at all, (of course I had to ask him first) but anyone who had the pleasure to talk with him would never question that.

Doug/Sixxus/Dever...I will never forget your voice, your laughter, or your smiles I've seen in some of the pictures you've shared with me. Karen and the twins are so blessed to have had you in their lives, and so were we. I miss you on msn already, and it's only been a day...even though we didn't speak everyday, just knowing you were there was so nice. I'll miss your writing, your imagination, and your uncanny creativity. You will be missed Doug, but never, ever forgotten.

Karen...thank you for sharing your salty sea dawg with us. He was so entertaining in and out of game. We're here for you all, and on msn some of us, please remember that.

I think I never had the pleasure of meeting Dever. I envy those who did. He seemed to be a very nice person with lots of qualities.

i have known Six since way back during beta and had many a chat with him on the TS server...always able to make me laugh and always ready to ignore the odd tantrum, Doug was a true gent.

I met you a lot while organizing player events on Atys, the way you played along in the first pirate event on atys was really really amazing. And I think Wormy was the coolest bad guy on Atys ever.

So sad. Doug was, and should still b, an inventive and imaginive contributor to to games and a valuable and exciting contributor to life. Will miss him so much. So sad for his wife and family, please accept my greatest condolences.
