That's a tough choice... hmmm.. can we build a statue of Pero INSIDE this Deathstar thing? Best of both worldscalel wrote:Aparantly either a statue for Pero out of resin and wood or a Deathstar made out of twigs, bark and vines ...

Re: Outpost - cats
i think there should be a alternate way to gain cats without the need of being involved with outposts that way everyone is happy. how this would be done i really have no clue and find many suggestions self defeating as the time spent earning cats would be better spent lvl'ing for good or bad looks like we stuck with them.
i do kinda remember yaffles comment that all they do are speed players to complete skills then leave the game which i find really sad.
ps how nice is this weekend of peace
feels like a holiday haha

to say "all they do are speed players to complete skills then leave the game" = to say "after player maxing his skills he leave the game because there is nothing to do anymore" = to say "Ryzom is one big grindfest"do kinda remember yaffles comment that all they do are speed players to complete skills then leave the game which i find really sad.
It does not matter when player leave, after 1 month or after 3. Maybe we need to forget cats and look what we can do to keep that player in game? Maybe we need more "end game" content except to "grind" more and more skill lvl?
Even with cats you need to "grind" your lvls. You cant sit in apartment and just wait till lvls comes to you.

Re: Outpost - cats
Endgame = fooling players into extended participation in addictive, cyclical, and ultimately pointless activities. Traditionally. Which, actually, also describes the concept of level-increasing.
What would be ideal is not a desperate-time-filler-until-inevitable-end-of-subscription for those who've grinded maniacally and would otherwise now find themselves bored. What an MMOG, particularly Ryzom, needs is an (or preferably more than one) interesting, unique, and community-sensitive staying-hook activity that includes and appeals to all skill types (not just combat skills). Not senseless, not repetitive, not pointless, not lore-baseless, not illogical, not imbalancing, not hastily-implemented or ill-thought, not too easy, not divisive, and not greed-encouraging.

the truth is as there is little end game content once u have finished achieving your personnal goals then yes you leave the game or get another goal if cats speed that process then its harmfull for the game.
Whats the newb fail rate for ryzom u think?
1 in 20 make it past a month would be my estimate and if u then can't keep that 1 amused then u have real problems as nevrax found out.
the biggest and best thing that could happen to ryzom is a drastic increase in active players.
how many times u done a /who to find its just you there

Re: Outpost - cats
While I agree with this statement, I don't have a concrete understanding of what a good example is, vs. what should not be implemented. What is good, new content then. Frequent lore-based events, and completed and expanded encyclopedia rites? State more specific examples please, if I am too off-based.katriell wrote:What would be ideal is not a desperate-time-filler-until-inevitable-end-of-subscription for those who've grinded maniacally and would otherwise now find themselves bored.
