I agree with your view, but if we as players would get a permanent death, atleast me, would leave the game, i dont want to level myself all up again, after useing weeks to come there.danolt wrote:A handful of NPC's have died. No player has ever died. No NPC has ever died at a players hand. I don't think an NPC has ever died from a weapon type that could have been crafted by a player (not real sure on this).
This lack of permanent physical damage during OP fights and EP2 is a major issue. If characters could be 'killed" my roleplay stance would change immediately. I also doubt I would be doing as much hunting if every time I went to 0 hp there was a chance of perma-death. Forage chatting would drop off a lot as well.
If it is your characters belief that Homins run a risk of dying with every respawn do you have some sort of buddy system to keep all your guildies from getting killed while they are hunting? Shouldn't you care more about the Kitin which have actually caused Perma-death in the lore as opposed to PvP actions where no one has died?

There are two major Powers on Atys. They have all the power. The Melanesians did not have a fair shot at beating/competing for regional dominance with the Japanese or Americans during WWII. That is basically how Homins are in relations with the Kami/Karavan.
If someone can not choose between these two groups, I don't think they can choose between anything. There is not a lot of middle ground.
I'd like to know why people think that a game that was advertised at launch as a two faction based game should change so that both factions become irrelevant?

oh look someone with something on-topic and constructive to say.tr808 wrote:Again i was hoping for some more background on things, why would some1 be a Neutral.... but what i see? The same ego's spammin another topic![]()
Jeziellia is neutral for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, she has trouble with the idea of killing a homin over ideas. Actions are different. A homin draws a blade against her or those she cares for, and she's there. But she isn't going to kill in the name of the Karavan. (The Kami creep her out due to the instilled prejudices of her people and the fact that she saw their TEETH! ...yeah.) Jeziellia is a Jenite. She does believe in the Goddess Jena and the teachings related. Her main trouble with the Karavan is promoting Homin-on-Homin violence.So I d like you Neutrals to explain to me why you decided to stay Neutral ;
- What does it add to your RP stance ?
- How come you feel like you can only go this way ?
- Had the lore have any impact on your decision ?
Just a quick point. That's actually opposite to the lore. The Karavan very much are about restricting homin knowledge - it seems. Stopping them exploring the roots, not sharing their technology. That's part of the reason the Tryker are more moderate than out-and-out Jenite (too curious and like to fiddle with things) and why the Fyros race decided to go Kami (The Kami didn't care about them investigating things and experimenting).jennaelf wrote:She has a tendency to lean toward supporting the Karavan because they believe in gathering knowledge, whereas the Kami did not present her with that impression on Silan.
I didn't say anything opposite of the lore. Yes, they are about limiting Homin knowledge, but a clever homin knows how to pay attention. Plus, it is part of the lore that the Matis civilization more or less is buddy-buddy with the Karavan in hopes that they will one day share this knowledge.grimjim wrote:Just a quick point. That I can go along with, but not 'they believe in gathering knowledge' per sejennaelf wrote:I didn't say anything opposite of the lore. Whether they share it or not, they do gather it, or appear to, and that was my indication and point there.
