*sigh* No need to bring the entire open source community and concept into this one small instance of a dubious act with unknown origin.
I kept the PM, downloaded the file and stuck it in a folder. However, I'm not going to forward the PM, share the file, or even ever read the file. The possible exception is if the game ends at some future time, at which point a spoiler wouldn't really hurt anything, and would even be useful to people continuing the story in a forum-RP or somesuch.

Who is to say what the designers had planned, it may very well be someone in a similar role who released this. We have not progressed very far according to early roadmaps DCC talked about in many interviews prior to release. Maybe someone wanted answers (or to cause a ruckus) on why we are still so early in the "saga" (we know the finances and released before done issues are big factors) after all this time, without someone telling us when we will get back on track. We have been tossed a few bones and have something to look forward to, but where is the saga/beef ?
Some of us may have been quite happy to read this document... RPers and those who are making up there own things/history/lore may not be so thrilled. There should be no shame in showing where we planned to go, but nothing official until the developer mechanics are moving that way. The story of our saga should be a fountain for us, not something made up along the way.
I don't like the smell of how this went down anymore than anyone else here, and it does reek of similar recent tactics by someone. If GameForge had published this type document to us as their first ambitions for Ryzom, a great many of us would proclaim them saviours... You're future is bleak when you don't even know your history.

Count me among the RPers making up my own lore
I would be thrilled for actuall answers to a storline that has been languishing for too long.
This "nobody really knows anything about anything" situation Atys is in now needs to be corrected.

Well maybe we are supposed to be in the Dark?

You gotta love MMO's that have MOTD's that say 'check out this webpage for lore" instead of actually inputing the lore into the game the old fashioned way.
Meh, haven opened it but if I did I would consider it a road map. To where? Maybe where Nevrax would have taken Ryzom... Was the document the one and only path that this game can take the lore? I sorta doubt it.
Anywho, I would love to see the lore actually in game like Silan was impleneted than on these silly websites.

Its more about the lore of where ryzom/atys came from. Its the "fundimental building blocks of the saga of ryzom" I doubt that GF would want to change it.
Apparentl theres some breif idea of what Nevrax had planned ahead, but it doesnt go into too much detial. but like u said GF will wanna do things on their terms.
