For me personally, the annoying thing is not the fact of a server going down and that it takes about 2 days to bring it up again, but the absolute lack of information. "Join the klients chat" can't be the answer, because e.g. in our german klients chat there is no single word about cho.
A lot of players perhaps waited since yesterday, but if they had known that it will last that long, they could have started on another server and would't have lost 2 days.
This is not a problem for me, cause I'm on reactivation and I've got my original char on Leanon, but this shows me that communication is not the priority of Nevrax.

Yeah agree to that. There is hardly any information here bout Cho. I am not even trying to login on klients, cos there will be a bunch of ppl waiting and asking. Just a few updates bout what is going on now, would be fine. But all i see is a post from last night.
And Again,.. dont wanna know what they mean with " Soon ".
And u are right, Final, we got our toon & community on cho, so not needed to play on another server. Although i got a high lvl toon there, it would simply be not the same.

Personally, I have no desire whatsoever in starting a char on the old english server. One of the reasons I decided to go ahead and join (3 month trial atm) was the fact that Cho was a new server. I'm not ragging (yet), just stating a point of fact.
Can we get some kind of official update on an eta when Cho will be back up? We are well past the point of the latest update for bringing it back up. An update of "we haven't a clue", however it may be unwelcome, would be a valid response.
Thanks.

It's not just a Nevrax "problem" but all game, and even software, company problem. Anywhere that you have people who talk to the community, but aren't actually invovled with the development or problem fixing issues, you're going to see some of disconnect. This is especially true in games. The community leaders are not devs, nor are they technical engineers, so we cannot expect them to have every answer the minute we want one. They have done a better job at relaying information then any other game I've played, and that's saying a lot.
Also, people do need sleep. While it'd be nice to think they'd stay up for 24 hours straight to fix a problem, it's just not feasible nor would I want them to. The lack of sleep will eventually kick in and they could possibly make the problem worse. At least on Ryzom you can start on another server and keep yourself busy till Cho is back up. In FFXI, if the servers went down (wich was RARE), you couldn't start on another server nor did you have any direct contact with the community leaders. You might be lucky to get a post on POL a couple hours later saying "Valefore is down, it might be up in another 2 hours so please try again". If it wasn't up in 2 hours you might get an update 3 hours later, IF you were lucky.

I totally agree with final and pushing billing back, i know most devs/csr's aint gunna like what i ahve to say, but freedom of speech and all
I think personally we should have billing time pushed back since to begin with we was actually told half hour. 8 hours later no information just the title saying the server was being re-booted.
Yeah ok i moaned and moaned trying to get some sort of details, but when i first started this game information was given out left right and centre. last night it was like information of some sort was being held back.
or not wanting to be explained.
finally in the end we was told the server had bigger problems then originally known ( so there was information of some sort ) we was old it would be back up in the morning as it will be getting worked on all night, yeah fair enough, thats kinda all the information we needed then we would have known it wouldn't be back up.
but, 3pm the next day the server is still down and we still have no update about what is actually going on.
Have you found the cause?
Is it likely to be back up "today?"
Some sort of update would be nice, I know im a pain in the ar*e but information helps, We have planned OP battles etc, we've lost lvl'n time, time to earn the dappers we need, Cats etc etc.
Not to mention that the server will also be down tomorrow for patching, so that will be yet another day we cannot log onto the server we decided to play on, Ok your point being is.. "There are other English servers such as arispotle" I left the game in the beginning because of the rude unsocial people on that server, the only reason i came back to the game is to play on Cho, that is where my toon is and that is where i want to play. not arispotle, if it was there i would continue with my old toon or would have created a new toon on that server, but the fact is.. Cho is now my home
All we're asking for is for some sort of update as to the progress of sever status
P.s Yeah i know im a pain, but ive always been that way

Yeah, some day a company providing MMO games will know and publish lots of information when their servers go down (because servers DO go down, we're not chocked about that) It's that there isn't an update eveyr 2 hours telling excatly what is going on that we miss.
When my server died for my WoWguilds homepage I told them what happend (thunderstorm) and I named the parts and brands of the equipment fried by the lightning and I'm even putting up pictures for people to see.
It made them stfu and they just got what they wanted. That the server took 2 days to fix didn't bother them because they knew what was going on and I could give progress reports!
But, then again, we'd probably find something else to whine about
I can't understand how people making a game MEANT to be a treadmill supposed to take ages to play to get anywhere even dare to suggest "just make a new character, digging at lvl 10 is fun, you get 1 item per spot and you can't even prospect, it's awesome! I make new characters all the time, it's great to craft armor and weapons that doesn't even beat the starter gear!"

i think maybe its time to face the facts, its gone down at the weekend, its a big problem, the developers in france will no dought have family's so are they willing to spen there weekend fixing this large problem, probably not........
Why have i come to this conclusion? simple the sudden total lack of any info regarding this matter which i have to admit usaully is superb.....
This is just my opinion and i hope im wrong

Yeah i understand they have family. But i dont think u get my point. NOW, we dont know anything bout what is going on. Yeah, a small post from soul.. last night bout server will be " soon " up.
If they are not working on the issue, and i say IF,cos they wanna spend with family, like u say, than just post here, and say.. well guys sorry for this.. but tomorrow after patching Cho might be up.. or sumthing. Than we know at least, something. Now we know nothing, and that s*x !

and i agree with you 100% my comment was not aimed at defending them, it was a case of due to lack of info my mind stated to speculate and that is what i ended up thinking of.

I just subscribed this week, and I must say that by this point, I'm not happy at all. I was very impressed at first by the amount of staff support offered ingame, but getting information through this whole debacle with Cho being down has been excruciating. I have played several MMO's and NEVER have I experienced two days worth of unplanned/unannounced downtime with such little information from the developers about when I could expect to play again. What's more, our subscriptions are running and no one has said a word about our time being refunded.
If this is the way things usually work with this game, I wholeheartedly regret subscribing. There comes a point when lack of service and/or lack of information regarding return of service is unacceptable. I think we've passed that point.
I've heard it said repeatedly that if the staff had information, they would give it to us. That isn't helping. For all we know, the people who are supposed to be fixing the problem have taken the weekend off. Waiting until midnight (yet again) for another official update saying something so vague as "we'll have it fixed sometime tomorrow" or worse, "we don't know" isn't instilling a lot of faith in new customers.
