Oh for goodness sake...
I quite agree with everyone else in this thread thats got a bit of common. If what you get isn't enough and you can't be arsed to pay a tiny amount for an extra months worth of testing then... *SIGH* @ you!
You've made your feelngs quite clear. Now just like it or lump it and shush!
Man, you'd think this was a PvP thread or something...
And how many mmo's use anything other than cards, c'mon... Very few even used to bother with the Paybycash option, lucky that Nevrax does at all.
What do you want them to do, home cash pickup?

what about college students like me who simply can't afford to pay, i work a full-time job just to pay for college, food, and my apartment
once i graduate i might start paying, but that is four years from now, and i play enuf that i would like to reap the benefits sooner than later

Okay but Ryzom was never advertised as free its a trial and so you eventually have to decide if your gonna pay or not. If you dont pay you can't play cause that is how ryzom works level cap or no.
Also its a luxury to play games online and something I had no time to do and could not afford when I was in university. When I went to school I managed to eat, sleep and go to work and there was not much time for anything else.

do you really expect, that there has to be sombody out there, who should have to make games like this for poor little students like you.
There are a lot of things I unfortunatly not able to afford ever.
Just check out other games maybe you will be able to find one wich suits you and is for free, unfortunatly I don´t know any so I can´t give you any suggestions, but just check the web for mmorpgs (free mmorpgs ) maybe you get lucky

ok, Kattan, I believe I know the game you speak of. but if I remember right when I HAD to buy the game to play it I could have gotten 3 months subscription to Ryzom out of it. And where is that game at now. um sitting on shelf, uninstalled on my computer.
So might as well pay a 3 month subscription and see if you like game at least don't have it sitting on shelf. Oh and I knew by level 9 that the game we speak of was not for me, and I really tried to like it. But just was not for me. So I stayed with Ryzom cause it is such a awesome game.
I personally think it was a great idea. but that is my opinion of course.

Memiki, it can't be the same game, the game I am speaking of can be downloaded directly from the publishers as a small client as that is all you need unless you have the expansions. Although it is very likely that I also have the game you are describing and never managed to make it passed level 6 or so.
As for the person said that I am lucky at all that they offer the Paybycash method, I'm guessing what you are saying is that I should be leaving the game to elitists like you that have a credit card. Hell even if they manufactured and sold time cards like some other MMO's do, it would be a better option than they currently have in place. At least other MMO's that offer Paypal/Paybycash methods of payment at least have more than a month by month option available. If there was a longer period made available via this route, I for one would make much use of it, and this likely would be yet another MMO that I had multiple subscribing accounts on, but as it sits now, I couldn't be bothered.

I would love to do 3/6/12 month subscription, but as you see above, I do not have a credit card so Nevrax has made this impossible for me to do

You can also use debit cards as credit cards. They're also much less restricted and problematic as you can't spend money you don't have, as with credit cards. (Apart from normal overdraft).

[Edit] Double post.
Erm...
Well, I'd like a solid gold rocket car, but I can't afford one. I demand my solid-gold rocket car!

Game Time Cards don't seem to work well. They sit in store shelves by the bundles and slowly leak out. Eventually, the store will be stuck with a whole bunch of them with no demand, and they are not published anymore. Ive seen it happen to CoV/CoH, WoW, SWG, and the SOE Bundle.
At least, thats how it is in SoCal.
*Hides as this thread is getting ugly*
