Lets say neutral A want to play neutral and not assist kami/karavan players. neutral B needs neutral A help, but neutral A has no way of seeing that neutral B is really neutral and not faction player who pretends to be neutral.
Homin title does not work, because kami/kara aligned players also have it.

wait... factioned non pvp players had the same problem. it will be fixed, ... the neutrals right ?

everyone has this idea, where faction titles are some sort of reward that you need to "work" for to get it. really, it's not. it's just a title. it's logical to get one when you join the faction.

*sigh* Bait taken.

Shall we start a betting pool on when this thread reaches the 10+ pages mark?

totnkopf wrote:its just choosing not to change the default settings every char gets when they come in to the game. you choose to miss out of titles, etc. As Raynes has pointed out extensively, this game is all about the growing conflict between two factions. If you choose to not take a side, then you choose to miss out of some of the game. Why would the developers reward people for refusing to take part in what the game is about? They shouldn't and i hope they won't. Homin fits neutrals just fine.
I don't even know where to start with the wrong assumptions in this one...

Choosing not to change IS making a significant sacrifice, most often for RP reasons. We don't necessarily _choose_ to miss out on titles, TPs etc this is a byproduct of a character stance and a reaction to being pressured.

An RPG game is about what the players make it about, the conflict between the factions is background, something going on, we shouldn't have to buy into it to have a good play experience. The middle ground, neutrality, aloofness, this is a perfectly valid choice in a conflict. In the case of the Atysian conflict it is one that is established from both lore and from the way the game has been played out.

Edit: And if people keep posting just to add snerk and drivel without knowing what they're talking about it is very likely to hit 10+ pages.

Not intended to be bait.
I'm just annoyed now that people don't seem to appreciate the sacrifice required in making the choice to remain neutral. If we're doling out things to the factions I think the neutral position deserves something as well.

Agreed. If you think its all no work being neutral you should hear me moaning about my Kami fame being too high some times.

We work to preserve our neutrality, keeping fames balanced. That, when combined with what I like to call "the neutral nerf" is a little harder than spending a couple of days killing bandits (gasp! what sacrifice! what hardship! Truely I must salute you).

Perhaps neutral titles should require your faction or civ fames to be nearly equal. Within 5 points of each other or something (exact figure I dunno, just... whatever is deemed "balanced").

argue all you want, there is no way neutrals should be given titles.

being a kami/karavan is more than "just killing a few bandits" its working to improve the standing of your faction as a whole, supporting other players who make that decision, working together with many diverse people to forward a common cause.

my faction to me is the thing that glues the bonds

neutrals purposly exclude themselves from this and take a different route, you chose no faction therefore you should not have a "faction" tag

Or you can take the view that neutrality is a faction

I don't see why be so hard against neutrals having titles... isn't enough they don't have PR tps?

As for the work they don't have to do with fame missions... oh well let them make fame with tribes (or a certain number of tribes) and become for example Cookie Crank hunter, or Keeper guard or Master of the Goo sage or Corsair gunman.

As for "undecided" that's way too cool :) I bet a lot of faction people would go neutral just to be "Undecided" rofl.
