I havn't actually encountered a problem since the bug.
I prospect normally, harvest/careplan normally. If I need to stop harvesting due to a gas cloud I press ctrl+s, I can prospect more sources while waiting for my first to finish with no prob, I can move around no prob, havn't tried a re-equip, only thing that cancels it I've noticed is sitting down.

Sitting.
Moving.
Reprospecting.
Changing hand item.
All do it.
Which completely prevents me digging effectively.

Activating xp catalyzer -- minor, but true --
The ones that affect me most are moving and equipping: moving, to go to another source after the dreaded blue bar is empty, sources can be distant when using long range, and equipping, to heal a mate that got a mode 5. I could throw a heal and sometimes resume digging, reaching max quality and regain focus.
Although personally, what also bothers me is that, since the beginning, I got used to perform the last extraction, realize that the last extraction does not fit in the bag; then port, move things around, get the last extraction (as if it was in my hand) and go on.
Now, out of habitude, I always realize I don't have enough room when it's too late, having to systematically destroy the last pull result -wasted effort- and this is annoying. It can be argued that is more "realistic" but in this case realism affects gameplay negatively. And to fully use my bag space, I must continually check the bulk left, do the math, and cancel the extraction when the max number of mats is reached.
Yet; there may be a reason for this change, -- as far as I know, due to the "waaah I got 12 sup zun and the vorax killed me, lost them!!! devs!!!!" -- but other than this one, I see no reason. Personally I would like to be able to "put in bag" partial amounts, or even if every full mat is automatically added to your bag

It's just a pain in the hump and something that it really wasn't necessary to mess with when, as people have said, there were other things requiring attention.

Well I use ctrl+s and the only thing that drops mats/focus regen is sitting.

I agree with you, this bug is extremely annoying and needs to be fixed asap. But there are work arounds that make digging somewhat tolerable albeit slower.

*ticks* the box for un-patching this bit of patch if no fix is imminent.

To think of it in a "realistic" sense, the mats in your bag, are simply in your bag. While those last mats are kind of in your hand. You're holding them until you have more room in your bag

As 'not a fan' of digging (I'm in it for the bling) the tolerability threshold was pretty weak to start with.
The _idea_ of the fix simply seems to have been to make dug mats still go into your bag when something untoward happened. Instead they vanish all the time. Clearly it's not working as intended and why we've not seen any movement on what should just be a rollback I don't know :/
