Could you clarify 2 points for me Xavier please? In para one, do you mean that the bans will be permanent because you don't want to bother opening and closing paying customers access to the forums?

In para two, what do you mean by 'how things evolve'? Do you mean that if the customers that are left show respect & pay proper homage to Nevrax/yourself then you would consider access for the bad boys & girls?

I know English is not your first language so I offer you the opportunity to correct anything I have misunderstood before I jump to false conclusions.

I agree with Delphi, flaming people on the forum is much worst behavior than anything that occurs in Ryzom PvP.
Psylo's post is simply offensive and unwarranted. A direct challenge to be banned. If he isn't banned it will serve has an example of inconsistency and bias.

@Delphi, I don't share your sensibilities but respect your opinion. As a semi-frequent poster I hope I haven't given you cause for discomfort. I apologize if I had.

Forums do get abused and sometimes people are slow to react. Or the threads fall off the front page and they get buried. Or people over-react. The inner-troll gets the best of us. And then we lock ourselves into a position or action that we can't recover from without the lost of pride and prestige.

well all the people banned are decent people and for me i still dont understand their ban and has increased the void between the players and developers, never a good thing

Another thing if the nevrax people actually responded to everyones questions half as much as they have responded to this thread maybe people wouldnt get so upset and feel like they have to repeat themselves over and over again in hopes there questions dont fall on deaf ears. which is usually the case.

who knows maybe then nobody wouldve been banned.

Exactly, Nayr.

I am amazed how Nevrax representatives can find sufficient time to censor posts and avatars, as well as defend hard-line banning policies; but can not take a few minutes to come up with informative responses to questions about in-game content.

If our questions were answered when we asked them, there would be no need for us to go on and on about them.

I wouldn't be surprised if I get accused of something or told to mind my own business again, but here goes... This is my opinion on that:

Enforcing forum rules is a "simple" matter of taking a possible offense and comparing it to a list of rules or confirmed offenses. This can be done as quickly or as slowly as the person enforcing the rules is able or cares to do.

Answering the kind of game-related questions that most people are asking nowadays is far more complicated than that...
If the answer to the question is not known for sure, then it has to be discussed. If you've ever been to a meeting you'll know how long this can take.
Even if the answer is "known", all answers on this topic should be coherent and not contradictory; more time taken up checking stuff.
It may be that the question doesn't have any real answer (eg. "when are we getting feature X?")
...or the answer to the question is something that the players aren't allowed to know for some reason (eg "what are the rewards for episode 2?")
...or something that has been answered before in a vague manner, but the players insist on asking again and again (eg "when will ranged be fixed?!").
In any of these last 3 cases, an answer won't be possible at all.

I thought it best that I give my opinion on this subject before this thread gets closed along with the rest.

I am a guild member of Lathaniel's, so you'll have to excuse me if I speak extremely highly of him. What I say though is completely true.

In knowing Lathaniel, I have not once found him to be rude or discourtious to anyone, knowingly. He is outspoken about his views on PvP, which is Anti-PvP. But, when has he said a malicous thing to anyone on this forum about anything? From what I've found, he hasn't. As stated by another, Lathaniel's post in the "Trolling and Flaming" Thread was simply stating what a person more cynical etc than he would say. He was also very courtious about that post. Granted, I caught a little sarcasm, but everyone is sarcastic in their own right.

On another note, Jyudas getting banned was also wrong. He simply stated his opinion as we are want to do in this day and age. I found nothing insulting in that, not toward anyone or any compay-whatever. Jyudas has always been an inspirational speaker. His threads on anti-PvP have been wonderful, granted a little long. Those threads, along with every other thread I have seen him post, are littered with reasons or proof of evidence. He has always posted courtiously and without almost any bias.

Finally, as I spoke to a guildie last night about Jyudas's banning, she came up with the remarkable conclusion that I will repeat, tho not word for word. Also, I will probably get banned for this post..but, so long as I can still read the forums-I dont care. Maybe Xavier is taking out all his frustrations out on us because he doesn't like his new status? What, with Jessica taking over his position. Didn't they bring her in to make things better? Well, we were the ones complaining about them not being good enough. Now Xavier has a different job. Community Liaison, boy-I always wanted that job. Hmm. So Xavier has taken out his frustrations on those speaking out against the way Ryzom is going. Goodbye Jyudas and Lathaniel!

And now, Might as well say mine. See you all in game! That was me disagreeing with you for the way you are running the forums. This is a public forum where you want our ideas and views on the game. Well, a lot of posts will be biased. So, everyone that posts with thier opinion isn't always going to post something dreadfully sweet and nice. "Oh, I love you Xavier and Jessica! But, there is this one problem..." Suure, make me gag! The way you, Xavier, are doing things, you seem to expect us to throw nice words in with our threads. This game means something to a lot of us. The community is the best, and we hate to see it go! So, we get a bit frustrated and emotional when we post things. Deal with it. I could understand if a post was repeated over and over with one-liners, and rude comments. But honestly! Let me shut up now.

Oh yeah, I was saying GoodBye to those on the forums. Adios, I'm sure. I haven't quit yet. I was planning on sticking around until the new fame thing, but now-I'm not so sure :( I love you all!

unwarranted ? Is it ? I really dont think so.

It was not me who turned the game upside down ! It was not me who destroyed the mood we had some months ago with a brainless and extremly nonsensitive crisis management. We where poor in terms of content but many where happy and there was everything ok on this forum back then.

So someone asked for more constructive critics ? Fire JM, then make a rollback of the game and lore back to pre EP2. Then get someone with some imagination, sensibillity and vision to develop a true lore that fit every kind of player. But after all i dont think that the damage done to the game is reversable.

Well, i am sort of grown up. I stop posting and i stop spoiling the fun of those who are playing and enjoying the game in their own way. Dropped my sub and my alpha tester account for R2. This is not the Atys i loved and in parts not the community i liked.

If i am able to post this i am not banned. Dont make a thread about this, i ban myself.

"I can't confirm or deny what i do or do not know at this time about that matter." would be sufficient answer to all of those. it shows, that they saw it and readed it. did they understand the question/problem is another matter.

but instead that simple answer, we a left in the dark for months and then they wonder why we so p<beep>.

Xavier, as you stated here, we're all human, we all make mistakes, CSR's included. But part of being human is admitting when you have made one, and doing your best to remedy it. Swallowing your pride is never easy, or fun, but it shows strength of character to those who matter, to those who look at your discussions with intelligent eyes.

So I appeal to you to reverse the bans made solely on the basis of one post in the wrong thread.
